You can’t be a follower of Jesus and be politically correct.

Q:  Who benefits from the whole absurd notion of ‘political correctness’?

A:  Those who practice and/or promote evil.

Political correctness is merely a form of intimidation meant to silence those who would speak the truth.  A form of intimidation . . . a provoking of fear . . .

‘For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self‑discipline.’  II Timothy 1:7

If you are so easily intimidated by societal pressure to be politically correct, then I seriously question your ability to endure in the face of real persecution!

In fact, I wonder about your level of commitment to Jesus Christ.  Did you decide to be a Christian because of your dedication to Jesus Christ and the truth and love He embodies–or because of  ‘what’s in it for you’?

“Then [Jesus] called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life  will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.””    Mark 8:34-38

Is telling the truth, in the face of man’s displeasure, too great a burden for you to bear?  Is it too embarrassing to uphold the way of truth and love, when those around you are swimming in a cesspool of sin and perversion?  Is maintaining their favorable opinion of you more important to you than being faithful to God?

For example, God’s Word says:

“ ‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.’”  Leviticus 20:13

and

“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.  In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”  Romans 1: 25-27

(In Leviticus 20, there are many other practices which are mentioned and condemned.  However, homosexuality is the one I have chosen for an illustration, because it is one of the ‘freedoms’ that is so zealously guarded by political correctness.)

The passages above clearly spell out that homosexuality is a sin, a perversion, unnatural, detestable, shameful, indecent, and a capital offense.  It also implies that illnesses such as AIDS may be the ‘due penalty’ for such perversion.

Christian: are you ashamed that God’s Word says such things?  Have you become so influenced by political correctness that you feel more shame over God’s Word and His attitude towards sin, than you feel towards the sin itself?

If so, I hope you are jolted enough by the realization to hit your knees and repent!  It is definitely time to turn off your TV and start spending time with God.
