We have a strange relationship with the truth.

  • we want other people to serve it to us untainted
  • we want to have the right to reject it
  • we want an exemption from giving it

Truth is not a buffet that we can graze from, taking a little from here and a little from there, according to what appeals to us.  Truth is one plate in a multicourse meal that our Heavenly Father prepares for us.  Each of us is going to find some things on that plate that don’t appeal to us.  Nevertheless, we are obliged to eat what He serves us.

“They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.”

2nd Thessalonians 2: 10
