It was brought to my attention, that some people who believe in the preTribulation Rapture believe that the ‘falling away’ is really a ‘catching away’.  Apparently they have a different interpretation of this verse:

‘Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;’  (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

(A simple check on the meaning of this term would show that the Greek word is ‘apostasia’.  This means: a falling away, defection, or apostasy.  Even the corrupt Bible versions got this one right, translating it as rebellion, apostasy, or falling away.)

Nevertheless, for those who fail to do their own Bible reading and/or fact checking . . . do you realize what that implies? It implies that anyone who believes this, as long as they are alive, can not believe that anyone who rises to power is actually The Antichrist (because they believe they’ll be Raptured before that happens, right?).

So, what’s going to happen when someone

‘opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God’? (2 Thessalonians 2:4)

We know that God is going to send a strong delusion to those who don’t love the truth (2 Thess. 2:11) . . . and we know that ‘Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.’ (2 Cor. 11:14)  (Also, I have reason to believe that The Tribulation may not be seven years, and will not begin with a seven year peace treaty.) . . .

The churches are already moving to unite with one another, with Catholicism, with Islam, with Eastern occult religions such as yoga, etc. Many have been ‘prophesying’ of a ‘great awakening‘ or a ‘great end-times revival‘ (which isn’t Scriptural!) . . .

We know that The Antichrist’s coming ‘is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders‘ (2 Thess. 2:9) that ‘his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness‘ (2 Cor. 11:15), that ‘there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect (Matthew 24:24). . .

Besides the typical (false) healing ministries by such false apostles as Benny Hinn, we have abominations like the Todd Bentley fiasco, and churches where angels, ‘gold dust’, jewels, and oil are supposedly appearing. People are having dreams, believing that Jesus is appearing to them–but with prayer for discernment, and comparison to God’s Word, these prove to be false. . .

If they ALREADY can’t discern that these things are not of God . . . that they fulfill Jesus’ warnings of end-times deception . . . then just who are they going to suppose that fellow sitting in God’s temple is? (And what new, deceptive teachings or ‘discoveries’ might further prepare the way for him?)

I may be wrong, but when I look at how many people missed the coming of the Messiah (only two were waiting and watching, and recognized Him after He was born) . . . and how the prophecies about Him were fulfilled in ways they did not expect . . . I suspect that The Antichrist could be among us for quite awhile, with very few people recognizing who he is. It MAY even be that we won’t know, unless God reveals it to us.

One other thing that we shouldn’t overlook, is that Satan has to have some plan for quieting, confusing, or explaining away the Scriptures that would allow people to recognize Him. As fast as things are unfolding, it does appear that Bibles may still be obtainable when he comes. Even if they weren’t, enough people remember certain things to be able to identify him at some point.

Certainly marginalizing or getting rid of believers would solve some of that problem–but he wants to appear to be a ‘good guy’, so he’d need to appear to have clean hands in the matter. And, even if he were rid of all Christians, there are bound to be some people who are currently ‘on the fence’ that would remember things they’ve been told, who could ‘out’ him then.

It seems to me that the MOST effective strategy would be to paint a completely different picture–of him, and of how things will happen–so that people will be unaware as it happens right under their noses.

And indeed, I strongly suspect this is already happening–with the help of the false picture that is being presented in the churches of a preTribulation Rapture, and a great end-times revival accompanied by signs and wonders.

READ YOUR BIBLE and PRAY that God will help you understand it and show you the truth, lest you also be deceived!!
