How many times have you heard someone say this?:

‘In Genesis 6, it talks about how Noah and his family were the only ones without corrupted seed.’

I’m going to address this, because it’s something we’re hearing virtually every day.  But not everything that’s being said is true.  God’s WORD however, IS true.

In the Bible, it is very typical for something to be REPEATED several times, to reinforce the meaning.  (While those who come up with false doctrines latch onto seemingly vague and isolated phrases.)

Let’s look closely at the verse from which this misunderstanding springs:

‘These [are] the generations 8435 of Noah 5146: Noah 5146 was a just 6662 man 376 [and] perfect 8549 in his generations 1755, [and] Noah 5146 walked 1980 with God 430.’  (Genesis 6:9)

(The next verses go on to list the generations (Strong’s H8435=descendants) of Noah.)

What is this verse trying to convey?  The meaning is stated 3 times, in 3 ways, in the verse:

  1. Noah was a just man (H6662)
  2. Noah was perfect in his generations (H8549, H1755)
  3. Noah walked with God

It’s stated again in Genesis 7:1

‘And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen RIGHTEOUS before me in this GENERATION 1755.’

Despite what we are being told, Genesis 6:9 is telling us that Noah was RIGHTEOUS–not genetically perfect!!  This is also restated in Ezekiel 14:14 and 14:20.

Let’s look at the definitions of the words used in Genesis 6:9 . . .

Just (H6662)

1) just, lawful, righteous

…a) just, righteous (in government)

…b) just, right (in one’s cause)

…c) just, righteous (in conduct and character)

…d) righteous (as justified and vindicated by God)

…e) right, correct, lawful

Perfect (H8549)

1) complete, whole, entire, sound

…a) complete, whole, entire

…b) whole, sound, healthful

…c) complete, entire (of time)

…d) sound, wholesome, unimpaired, innocent, having integrity

…e) what is complete or entirely in accord with truth and fact (neuter adj/subst)

Generations (H1755)

1) period, generation, habitation, dwelling

…a) period, age, generation (period of time)

…b) generation (those living during a period)

…c) generation (characterised by quality, condition, class of men)

…d) dwelling-place, habitation

Hopefully you can see, after reading the definitions above, that to say that ‘Noah was perfect in his generations’ meant he was genetically perfect, is quite a stretch.  It would also be taking these few words completely out of the context of the verse they’re in . . . and of everything else that is ever said about Noah in the whole Bible!

There should be no room left for doubt, after 2 Peter 2:5, that Noah was saved because of RIGHTEOUSNESS, not genetics!!

‘And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth [person], a PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, bringing in the flood upon the world of the UNGODLY’

I urge you all to pray about this, because once we have accepted a false teaching, it can be hard to unlearn.  Pray that the Lord would show you, and that if what I’ve said is true–and what you’ve heard is wrong–that God would erase it from your mind and replace it with His truth.

Woe to all those who are conspiring against Israel!!  Woe to Hezbollah and Hamas, and to all who take up their cause.  This war you are planning against Israel is great foolishness.  Destruction has been decreed for you!  Because you are trying to take the land that the Lord has given to the children of Jacob, YOUR land will be given to them.

‘Now why dost thou cry out aloud? [is there] no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail. Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go [even] to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: FOR HE SHALL GATHER THEM AS THE SHEAVES INTO THE FLOOR.

ARISE AND THRESH, O DAUGHTER OF ZION: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.’  (Micah 4:9-13)

‘Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah [and] against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: ALL THAT BURDEN THEMSELVES WITH IT SHALL BE CUT IN PIECES, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. . . . In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and THEY SHALL DEVOUR ALL THE PEOPLE ROUND ABOUT, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem.’  (Zech. 12:2-4, 6)

‘The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle. Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised. . .

. . . Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise [men] out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau? And thy mighty [men], O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that EVERY ONE OF THE MOUNT OF ESAU MAY BE CUT OFF BY SLAUGHTER. For [thy] violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, AND THOU SHALT BE CUT OFF FOR EVER. . .

. . . And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and THERE SHALL NOT BE [ANY] REMAINING OF THE HOUSE OF ESAU; for the LORD hath spoken [it].

And [they of] the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and [they of] the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin [shall possess] Gilead. And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel [shall possess] that of the Canaanites, [even] unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which [is] in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.’    (Obadiah 1:1-2, 8-10, 18-20)

Remember:

It is Jehovah ‘God that made the world and all things therein . . . And hath made of one blood all nations of men  . . . AND HATH DETERMINED the times before appointed, and THE BOUNDS OF THEIR HABITATION’  (Acts 17:24, 26)

Take heed to what you do.  Do not be found in league with those who are in opposition to the will of God.

‘The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: FOR IN MOUNT ZION AND IN JERUSALEM SHALL BE DELIVERANCE, as the LORD hath said, and IN THE REMNANT whom the LORD shall call.’  (Joel 2:31-32)

‘And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.’  (Rev. 12:6)

‘And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.’  (Rev. 12:14)

‘Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.’  (Luke 21:36)

The Lord has a plan for those who put their trust in Him . . . those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.

‘For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of [them] whose heart [is] perfect toward him. . . ‘  (2 Chronicles 16:9)

‘Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.’  (Malachi 3:16-18)

The Tithe

Not quite what the modern, money-hungry preachers teach about the tithe . . .

‘When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase THE THIRD YEAR, [which is] the YEAR OF TITHING, and hast GIVEN [IT] UNTO THE LEVITE, THE STRANGER, THE FATHERLESS, AND THE WIDOW, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;

Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of [mine] house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten [them] . . . ‘

(Deut. 26:12-13)

This passage is referring back to the Biblical guidelines for tithing, given in the Old Testament, as part of The Law of Moses:

‘Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; [or] if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Then shalt thou turn [it] into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:  And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

And the Levite that [is] within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay [it] up within thy gates: And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which [are] within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.’  (Deut. 14:22-29)

Who knew that tithes were brought and used for a great big, generous feast every third year?!

The tithe is not commanded for Gentile Christians.  You will find no instructions pertaining to it in the New Testament.  But now, as in all things, we should look to the Holy Spirit and The Word, to guide us in keeping the SPIRIT (rather than the letter) of The Law.

More on the tithe (so you can have a balanced and informed understanding) can be found in Leviticus 27:30-33, Numbers 18, Deuteronomy 12, 2 Chronicles 31, Nehemiah 10:28-39, 12:44-47.

Old Testament:

‘This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice: And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that [thou] shouldest keep all his commandments; and to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.’  (Deut. 26:16-19)

Lets compare this important passage with the New Testament . . .

‘This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.’

  • ‘For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall EXCEED [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.’  (Jesus, Matthew 5:20)(The Pharisees were very righteous EXTERNALLY, but their hearts were not in it.)
  • Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL of my Father which is in heaven.’  (Matt. 7:21)
  • ‘And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.’ (Matt. 19:16-17)

‘And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that [thou] shouldest keep all his commandments; and to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.’

  • ‘But ye [are] a chosen generation, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, an HOLY NATION, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:’  (1 Peter 2:9)
  • ‘Follow peace with all [men], and HOLINESS, without which no man shall see the Lord’  (Heb. 12:14)
  • ‘Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? . . .  for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.’  (2 Cor. 6:14, 16-18)

What has changed?  Not WHAT God expects of us–but HOW He expects us to do it!

We are no longer bound to the LETTER of The Law, but we are to keep the SPIRIT of The Law.  And as born again ‘believers’ who have REPENTED*, we have the Holy Spirit WITHIN us, to guide us and to EMPOWER us to say ‘no’ to sin and to live holy lives. God’s plan hasn’t changed.  The church is not a ‘new work’ He is doing . . . we are grafted into the ‘old work’ He began with His covenant with Abraham:

‘ . . . a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:’  (1 Peter 2:9)

Lets walk worthy of that calling!

*Repentance is not just changing our ‘mind’ about sin . . . but changing our behavior towards it as well.  When a person has truly repented, sin is something they RESIST and do battle with.  It is not something they casually give place to in their life, or make excuses for.  It is something they battle with fierce determination.

The Matter Has Already Been Settled

Lets go through a passage in Galatians 2, that SHOULD put to rest the claims of those who say we need to be ‘Torah Observant’ (keep all The Law of Moses, including dietary restrictions).  I hope you have not gotten caught up in this yourself.

It is because the ‘churches’ have given way to an ‘easy grace’ gospel (that is a FALSE gospel) that basically says ‘do as thou wilt’, that many who are sincere in their devotion to God have done the ‘natural’ thing, and have swung to the opposite extreme.  But the truth is not to be found at either of these extremes.

Lets look at the passage now . . .

‘And that because of FALSE BRETHREN unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, NOT FOR AN HOUR; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.’  (Gal. 2:4-5)

These ‘false brethren’ were the equivalent of many in the ‘Hebrew Roots’ movement today.  They claimed to be Christians, but they had never given up their strict adherence to The Law.  Now, this would be an individual choice, which would be between them and God . . . but life is never that simple.  Our actions DO affect others, because people observe what we do.  But in THIS case, it was worse.  These false brethren (who had made the sacrifice of Christ of none effect, by clinging to The Law) were not content to let it be their OWN lifestyle . . . they felt compelled to make sure that everyone else lived by their convictions too!  Sadly, their convictions were wrong and they were causing great turmoil in the early Church.

‘ . . . the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as [the gospel] of the circumcision [was] unto Peter’  (Galatians 2:7)

Paul affirms that he was the ‘Apostle to the Gentiles’ and Peter was the foremost ‘Apostle to the Jews’.  So, you would expect Peter to be ‘keeping Torah’, as our Hebrew Roots friends would say, right?  On the contrary . . .

‘But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.  For BEFORE THAT CERTAIN CAME from James, HE DID EAT WITH THE GENTILES: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation*.’  (Galatians 2:11-13)

*dissimulation = hypocrisy

When Paul arrived in Antioch, he had to confront Peter over his hypocrisy.  Because, before the false brethren (Judaizers, ‘Torah police’) showed up, Peter ‘did eat with the Gentiles’.  Now this doesn’t mean that Peter just deigned to sit at the same table as them . . . it means that PETER ATE WHAT THE GENTILES ATE.  And this was not what Paul corrected Peter about.  Rather, he corrected him because he had given way to fear of the Judaizers and was putting himself back under The Law. (Make note also, that these ‘Torah police’ lied to give themselves added authority, saying they were sent by the Apostle James, who was in Jerusalem.  You will see that later, James himself addresses this lie.)

This doctrine that we must be ‘Torah observant’ is a powerful deception–it was then, even as it is now.  Peter KNEW the gospel, KNEW that He was now called to uphold The Law by walking in the (Holy) SPIRIT of Love–not by strict adherence to the LETTER of The Law.  He even had a vision from God (Acts 10), REPEATED THREE TIMES, showing him that there was no longer a distinction between ‘clean and unclean’ in regards to food or people.  Yet even so, when the false bretheren came preaching this powerful deception, it threw him into doubt, and had him bowing his head in fearful submission to it.

‘But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before [them] all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?  (Galatians 2:14)

Paul’s rebuke to Peter was not about eating unclean food or about not ‘keeping Torah’.  It was about hypocrisy and coming back under The Law (which he apparently hadn’t COMPLETELY done when Paul arrived), and about putting that yoke upon the neck of the Gentile Christians.

After this confrontation, the ‘Torah police’ felt it necessary that they and Paul and Barnabas should go to Jerusalem, to bring the matter before the Apostles and Elders.  When they arrived

‘ . . . there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command [them] to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

And when there had been much disputing, PETER rose up, and said unto them, Men [and] brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as [he did] unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

NOW THEREFORE WHY TEMPT YE GOD, TO PUT A YOKE UPON THE NECK OF THE DISCIPLES, WHICH NEITHER OUR FATHERS NOR WE WERE ABLE TO BEAR?

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.’  (Acts 15:5-11)

By now, Peter had come to the realization that the Gentiles were not saved AS THE JEWS (by ‘keeping Torah’), but that the Jews were saved AS THE GENTILES–by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ.

I’m not advocating ‘easy grace’.  We are NOT to live according to the flesh.  If we live by the Spirit–the Holy Spirit, which is truth, righteousness, holiness, and love–we WILL uphold the SPIRIT of The Law.  And this is what God wants–those who will worship Him in SPIRIT and in TRUTH.  A holy people.  Without holiness, no one will see God.

‘God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.’  (John 4:24)

That Spirit, God’s Holy Spirit, will not lead us into sin.  But we must CRUCIFY our flesh.  WE have to ‘say no’ to sin and make the right choices.  God will give us the POWER to overcome sin, but He will not do it FOR us!

To wrap up, lets see what the conclusion of the matter was, after it was brought before the Apostles and Elders in Jerusalem . . .

Part of the reason for their decision was that

‘ . . .  Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.’  (Acts 15:21)

Our modern day ‘Torah police’ will tell you this is speaking of THE LAW of Moses, but I disagree, and the context of the passage will bear this out:  it is speaking of the Ten Commandments.  To wit, read the letter that was sent from Jerusalem to the Gentile Churches:

‘Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; [namely], Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: And they wrote [letters] by them after this manner;

The apostles and elders and brethren [send] greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have TROUBLED YOU with words, SUBVERTING your souls, SAYING, [YE MUST] BE CIRCUMCISED, AND KEEP THE LAW: to whom we gave no [such] commandment: It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell [you] the same things by mouth. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, TO LAY UPON YOU NO GREATER BURDEN THAN THESE NECESSARY THINGS;

That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.‘  (Acts 15:22-29)

And that is the conclusion of the matter!  The Gentiles were not to become ‘Torah observant’. Neither was (the Jewish) Apostle Peter corrected for ‘living after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews’.  The trouble, as always, had originated with the Pharisees.

Four needful things were laid out for Gentile Christians to observe, IN LIEU OF keeping the whole Mosaic Law.  That they should also keep the Ten Commandments goes without saying.  Jesus told us to keep the Commandments (Matt. 19:17; John 14:15, 15:10 also 1 John 2:3, 5:3; Revelation 12:17, 14:12).  But The Law and The Commandments are not the same thing.  The Law INCLUDES The Commandments, and MUCH more.

Hopefully you can see, from this short discussion, that we are NOT CALLED TO BE ‘TORAH OBSERVANT’!  We are called to WALK IN THE SPIRIT!

Striving to live by the letter of The Law–for WHATEVER reason–is as foolish as building an altar in your backyard and making the Old Testament blood sacrifices.  (And don’t think this won’t happen.  Rebuilding The Temple and resuming sacrifices will most likely be promoted by the Hebrew Roots movement.  They are teaching that we are COMMANDED to keep the feasts, and those feasts require sacrifices . . . )

Guard your heart and don’t let ANYONE use this fear-based doctrine to put you in bondage.

‘No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.’  (1 John 4:12-19)

Please note:  this author in no way recognizes, supports, or condones the Seventh Day Adventists or Hebrew Roots movement.

‘That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye PUT ON THE NEW MAN, which after God is created in RIGHTEOUSNESS and TRUE HOLINESS.

Wherefore PUTTING AWAY LYING, SPEAK EVERY MAN TRUTH with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.’  (Eph. 4:22-25)

‘Putting on the new man’ is something that WE do–not something the Lord does TO us.  WE make the choices that define our character.  How do we put on the new man?  By reading God’s Word, which renews the spirit of our mind, giving us the ‘mind of Christ’.

One of those choices we must make NOW, is that we will put away lying.  Lying is an ABOMINATION to God.  Homosexuality is an abomination . . . abortion is an abomination . . . and TELLING LIES is an abomination!

‘These six [things] doth the LORD HATE: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: A proud look, A LYING TONGUE, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness [that] SPEAKETH LIES, and he that soweth discord among brethren.’  (Proverbs 6:16-19)

Do you see?  Lying makes this list of things that are an abomination to God, right alongside abortion . . . and lying makes the list TWICE!!

The seriousness of this matter is not an exaggeration on my part.  Look at this other list of heinous sins, and lying is right there with them:

‘But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.’  (Rev. 21:8)

It’s right up there with murder and sorcery this time.  Make no mistake, this verse is not symbolic.  If the Bible says all liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire, you’d best believe it’s true.

‘If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God . . . ‘  (1 Peter 4:11)

When we open our mouth, it should be as though God Himself is speaking through us.  All it takes is ONE LIE, to destroy your credibility with someone who loves the truth.  As a Christian, that means your witness is destroyed–your ability to share the gospel with that person is lost.  (What if YOU are the very person God has ordained to reach them?)

We must strive to walk uprightly, as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God.  Salvation isn’t a bus ticket–it’s the beginning of a career.  Contrary to what you may have been led to believe, you get there by WALKING . . . it’s not a ‘ride’.

Do you know what will separate those who enter the Kingdom, from those who fall to the strong delusion and follow THE LIE of the Antichrist?  It is whether or not they LOVE TRUTH!

‘ . . . them THAT PERISH; BECAUSE THEY RECEIVED NOT THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this cause GOD SHALL SEND them strong delusion, that they should BELIEVE A LIE: That they all might be damned WHO BELIEVED NOT THE TRUTH, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.’  (2 Thess. 2:10-12)

You cannot claim to love truth if you traffic in lies!

As a liar, you make a practice of overriding your ability to discern the truth from a lie.  As a liar, you come to love lies, because they tell you what you want to believe.  But the verses above show that you will have NO EXCUSE for being deceived, because God will only send the delusion to those who don’t love truth.

God is not mocked.  You love lies?  Then lies you shall have.  Those who sow lies, will reap destruction when they are ensnared in THE lie.

‘Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and WHOSOEVER LOVETH AND MAKETH A LIE.’  (Revelation 22:14-15)
