Man Up!!

MEN . . . you need to read this.

These are your unborn sons and daughters, your unborn nieces and nephews, your unborn granddaughters and grandsons.  How can you stand by and say ‘it’s a woman’s choice’?

What if money was tight at your house, and you came home one day to find the dog decapitated and dismembered in your front yard?  . . . And when you went inside the house, your wife calmly told you she ‘took care of the problem’, because you could not afford to feed a dog?  Or what if the reason was because she had embarked on a career path, and could no longer spare the time to walk and feed and bathe the dog?  Or, perhaps she simply didn’t like having fur all over the house when he shed.  What if she never even asked for your input?  Would you not stare at her in abject horror and ask yourself ‘what kind of a monster does this?’?  And yet, when it comes to an unborn baby (which has TWO parents!!!) you look the other way and ‘let the woman decide’?  May I remind you . . .

‘ . . . For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.’  (1 Tim. 2:13-14)

Any man who has had much interaction with women knows that women make their decisions differently than men.  A woman’s decision-making process is usually heavily weighted towards feelings and intuition, while men primarily make their decisions based on logic.  Men tend to be more rational . . . women tend to be more irrational.  And nowhere is this more apparent than in situations where emotion is involved.  Women are VERY VULNERABLE TO DECEPTION, where emotion is involved.  For this reason, God designed a culture where MEN (employing logic and rational thought) would make the final decisions.  Husbands and fathers are to be the authority in the home.

However, when situations are emotionally charged, men are going to get a lot of RESISTANCE from women (and liberal/effeminate men).  A man needs to be prepared for this, and stand firm and unwavering.  Yet, many men will step aside and defer to a woman, not wanting to make her upset.  Man up!!  You ought to obey God rather than men!  (Acts 5:29)  The only thing worse than a MAN pleaser is a WOMAN pleaser!!–especially understanding that women are prone to deception, especially in matters that are emotionally charged.

Lets look for a moment, at where this all began.  We are told that in the Garden of Eden, the serpent beguiled Eve—he deceived her.  She made a terrible decision, while not entirely in her right mind.  HOWEVER, Adam (who was apparently present with her) was NOT deceived.  He knew very well that what she was doing was wrong.  For whatever his reasons may have been, he deliberately disobeyed God and joined Eve in her sinful decision—as so many weak-willed men do today, in regards to abortion.  What Adam ought RATHER to have done, was to rebuke Eve and plead with her to repent.  Then he should have brought her before God, and stood between them and interceded for her.

Men, this is what YOU also need to be doing today.  Look at these pictures and tell me that the women (mother, sisters, wife, daughters) that you know and love, are in their right minds if they would consider doing such a thing.  You must plead with them, put your foot down . . . whatever it takes to open their eyes and help them see this is wrong,  or at least to do all that you can to prevent it from happening.

Be the strong one they can lean on, if they feel they’re in a desperate situation where abortion is their only choice.  Help them to see that there are other alternatives.  Be the one who approaches things rationally and righteously, when they are vulnerable and unable to.  But above all, do NOT give in to wickedness to appease the women in your life!  As a man, God has given you specific responsibilities and HE will hold you accountable for whether or not you live up to them.

And speak up in this wicked culture.  The people who are promoting this culture of death are not the women who are in the horrible situations that abortion advocates talk about when pushing their agenda forwards.  A lot of people are making a LOT of money in this horrendous industry.  Others have an agenda of global depopulation and reduction of particular races.  The women who actually GET abortions are the pawns in this sick deception–the advocates pretend they are fighting for them, but that’s just a façade.  (That’s not to say they are innocent . . . I’m simply saying most of the women GETTING abortions are not the ones ADVOCATING for abortion.)  The advocates are usually the ones who have a monetary interest in the continuation of the industry.

Look at the carnage again, and ask yourself whether we should be giving ANY weight to the opinions of people who are capable of inflicting such damage on innocent humans beings, without remorse.  And look at the pro-choice women in your life who have been deluded by their propaganda–remember that Eve was deceived, but Adam wasn’t.  Realize that people who are deluded FULLY BELIEVE that what they are saying is true.  Use your God-given rational mind and DON’T allow them to pull you into deception or sin by tugging on your heartstrings or otherwise manipulating you.  Look at those pictures again, and tell me you don’t KNOW that abortion is just plain wicked.

You KNOW . . . but they are deluded.  You MUST intervene.  Sit down with the women in your family and talk with them.  Tell them abortion is just plain wrong and that they’d better never consider it.  Make them look at the pictures, so that they can’t deny the reality of what happens in an abortion.  Tell them that if they ever find themselves in a bad situation, to come and talk with you, and somehow—together—you will work it out.  If they tearfully confess that they’ve HAD an abortion, lead them in a prayer of repentance.  Help them understand that God forgives what we’ve repented of, but they must never do it again.  They must help to educate others.

Teach your sons and brothers too.  Don’t let them sweep this under the rug.  Help them understand that when they sleep around, they may be making babies that the woman may abort without ever telling them.  Encourage them to reject any woman that is pro-abortion.  Show them the pictures again, and ask what kind of a woman can do such a thing without remorse?  Who wants to get involved with a woman like that?  And make sure they understand that if they pressure a woman to have an abortion, they have innocent blood on their hands.  Make sure they understand too, that if they find themselves in a bad situation, abortion is not the answer.  Somehow, together, you can find a better solution.

Please men . . . stand in the gap.  Be the kind of moral, upright man that your Father in Heaven can be proud of.  Do what Jesus would do.

Examine Your Foundation

I can’t impress upon you enough, how important it is to be sure you have a strong foundation!! Let me explain this foundation, and then I’ll tell you why.

  1. Be sure that you are born again–not just through faith, but also through REPENTANCE and confession.
  2. Be sure that you walk in OBEDIENCE.
  3. With the help of the Holy Spirit (that you CANNOT have until you complete step #1), study the word!!
  4. Discern false teachers and don’t waste your time.  Some say to ‘chew the meat and spit out the bones’.  I say: don’t waste your time!–you may CHOKE on a bone!  Instead, study the 100% pure, trustworthy word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit.  Shut out the other voices so that you can hear HIS voice.
  5. Check EVERYTHING against the word of God.  When you hear a new idea, do NOT accept it until you have checked it out thoroughly.  Erosion is a powerful force.  One drop of water at a time is all it takes.  So it is with the deceptions that are now coming at us from every side.  They chew away at the foundations of your faith like little termites.  One core belief after another will be challenged, and stripped away if you allow it.

One other thing about false teaching: they play on your FEARS and on your PRIDE.  Two things they will use:

  1. ‘if you don’t believe THIS, you’ll end up in hell’ (fear)
  2. ‘the road is narrow and we/I have found it’ (pride).

Strong, hurricane force winds of false doctrine are beginning to blow.  Thoughts and doubts assail us, seemingly from within our own minds (but are actually ‘thought darts’ sent to us by the evil one).  Others are giving voice to these false teachings . . . even well reasoned arguments sometimes.  For those who have entertained the ‘thought darts’ in their own minds for awhile, hearing the same false doctrine from someone else is enough to convince them.

I am convinced that this is the work of hordes of demonic, seducing, lying spirits that have gone forth.  My (unfounded, unproven) OPINION, is that when people adopt these false doctrines, demons are attached.  I believe these demons then inspire and empower much of what the person says AND go forth and try to influence other people around them (through sending them ‘thought darts’).  I have wrangled with enough of these folks to recognize the demonic spirit that rises up, and becomes very ugly, when it is met with resistance or confronted with the word of God.

I am AMAZED at the things that are being said, by people who presumably once heard and accepted the truth!

Some now believe that Jesus is not God!  Others believe that if we don’t use some specific Hebrew name for God and Jesus, God will not listen to our prayers or humble repentance!

Others have even gone so far as to say that Jesus is a demonic, territorial spirit that has higher authority than others, and for that reason demons can be cast out in His name.  THIS is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.  They may not realize that is what they are doing, but if they have not already consigned themselves to the pit of hell for saying such things, then they are dangling over the edge with a slippery rope! (This is tantamount to the Pharisees of accusing Jesus of casting out demons by Beelzebub  (Matt. 12:22-32).)

‘Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come.’  (Matt. 12:31-32)

After sitting under false teachings and/or entertaining these implanted thoughts for long enough, these horrendous lies now make sense to their rational mind.  But they are completely wrong!!  I can only suspect, since they PROFESS to be searching for truth, that they do not have the Holy Spirit to guide them.  This may very well be a result of spending years in a modern, American church listening to the false ‘all you have to do is believe’ (so-called) gospel that leaves out repentance.  I will say it again:  without repentance, you may be a ‘believer’, but you are not yet born again!

Please, be SURE your foundation is in order!  You absolutely MUST have the indwelling Holy Spirit in order to properly understand the word of God

‘But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.'(1 Cor. 2:14).

The only way you are going to have the Holy Spirit, is if you come to God humbly, in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

We probably all KNOW this, when we stop and think about it, but it bears saying: love is not just a FEELING, love is the sum of your ACTIONS towards another person.

One of the ways Satan attempts to fight God’s truth (which is readily available to all of us, through our Bible) is to change or distort the meaning of words. Anyone who has grown up in America has been strongly influenced by Hollywood’s portrayal of love as a strong feeling of desire that leads us to blow all caution to the wind and jump into bed with the other person. This is not LOVE, this is reckless, self-centered, lust-driven passion!

On a conscious, rational level we know this. None of us interprets Jesus’ command to ‘love one another’ as instruction to indulge in a group orgy with other Christians. Yet we are not always rational, and most people DO uncritically hold to the idea that love is a FEELING.

Passion is a feeling. Lust is a feeling. Physical attraction is a feeling. Feelings are highly overrated. God did not intend us to live in perpetual bliss in this life. If He did, He would not have created chemicals that come along and bind up the serotonin (pleasure chemical) that our brain creates. Emotions are MEANT to be fleeting.

LOVE is a QUALITY, more like truthfulness, honesty, or loyalty. It is a way of behaving towards others, that considers what is best for them–even, potentially, to our own detriment. When we INVEST ourself in this pattern of loving behavior towards another person, over a period of time, a deep fondness grows. But even this, we must not confuse for love. Love is not a feeling. Love is a pattern of behavior.

Do we ‘love’ one another? Time will tell. Our behavior, over time, will show forth a pattern of concern and commitment to the well being of one another . . . or else it will show that we were quick to flatter and say kind things, but ultimately looked out for ourselves first. Let us LOVE one another, one word, one deed, at a time.

Some people these days, promoting false doctrines, will be quick to say ‘the road is narrow’ to insinuate that you must follow THEIR path to make it to Heaven. Let’s be clear, that the way is narrow does NOT mean that the way is HIDDEN and only few will be able to figure it out. The way is NARROW, because it is the ONLY way acceptable to God, and it is necessary to do it according to GOD’S directions (no substitutions allowed).

The Bible is CLEAR, and the explanation of the narrow path is SIMPLE. How to become saved, how to walk in obedience, and how to endure to the end are spelled out over and over again. There is no secret to it. To find the narrow gate, you must seek GOD’S will rather than your own. This is why most people pass on by, in favor of taking the broad path. It always comes down to will. Few people are willing to surrender their will to God. But whoever controls one’s will is their master.

It is true that walking the narrow path is NOT simple. It requires complete surrender. Outside of complete surrender to God, and His Spirit empowering you, you will NOT be able to endure the steep climb. Again, this is why most people REJECT it, in favor of the broad path.

The broad path includes all of the ALMOST correct ways to God. The broad path may substitute works instead of faith. The broad path may leave out repentance or obedience. The broad path may allow you to follow a ‘higher power’ rather than Jesus Christ–God and son of God the Father. The broad path is the way taken by all who REJECT the simple way that is laid out in the Bible for us to follow . . . they reject doing it GOD’S way.

Don’t even THINK about backsliding!!!

‘And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not [himself], neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes]. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few [stripes].

For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.’ (Luke 12:47-48)

‘For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.’ (2 Peter 2:20-21)

‘For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.’ (Hebrews 10:26-31)

If you have backslidden, God has led you to this post for a reason.  Repent while you are still able to, before your heart becomes hard as a stone, before your mind becomes totally deluded, and before your conscience becomes completely seared.  Reach out to God, humble yourself and repent, cry out for His mercy.  The hour is late and darkness is descending upon this world.

Please note:  NO ONE should make the commitment to become a Christian, until they are ready to DIE to themselves.  Being a Christian is not just an escape from hell, it is a diligent walk on a difficult and narrow path.  Those who are only looking for ‘fire insurance’ will not endure the climb.  If you are trying to win souls to Christ, be SURE they count the cost first, and are totally committed.  Anything less will lead to their destruction.

It is critical that we know who Jesus Christ is.  Jesus is not just ‘the son of man’, He is God incarnate (in flesh).

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. . . ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; and without him was not ANY THING made that was made. . . He was in the world, and the world WAS MADE BY HIM, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name . . . And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.’ (John 1:1, 3, 10-12, 14)

Jesus IS God in the flesh. ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, AND THE WORD WAS GOD . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us’

If you believe that Jesus was only a man, a prophet, a good teacher, then you are not a Christian. You are not a Christian because the blood of a good man does not pay for your sins.

The blood of a good man can no more take away the sins of the world, than the blood of innocent bulls, goats, and lambs.

‘NO MAN HATH SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].’ (John 1:18)

‘Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son’s name, if thou canst tell?’ (Proverbs 30:4)

‘Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, [for] the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell [among them].’ (Ps 68:18)

‘And no man hath ascended up to heaven, BUT HE THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, [even] the Son of man WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.’ (John 3:13)

‘(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also THAT ASCENDED UP FAR ABOVE ALL HEAVENS, that he might fill all things.)’ (Ephesians 4:9-10)

‘Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is HE WHICH COMETH DOWN FROM HEAVEN, and giveth life unto the world.

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

And Jesus said unto them, I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. . .

. . . When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? [What] and if ye shall see the Son of man ASCEND UP TO WHERE HE WAS BEFORE? (John 6:32-38, 51, 61-62)

‘So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.’ (Mark 16:19)

‘Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.’ (Luke 22:69)

‘For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O GOD, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom.’ (Hebrews 1:5-8)

I urge you to prayerfully consider what I have said here. If you do not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, then you are either worshiping (who you believe is) a man, or you are stripping God (Jesus) of His divinity and lowering Him to the level of a ‘good man’.  (Actually, probably both.) Neither one of these is the kind of faith that leads to salvation.  A ‘good man’ can’t save you.  Only GOD can.

The lawlessness in the American churches has reached epic proportions. I can understand why people that truly love God would want to distance themselves from the abominations they see there.

Because of this, many have swung to the other extreme and have gotten caught up in the Hebrew Roots movement. They want to demonstrate true devotion to God by doing whatever they can to please Him. Sadly, they have fallen into another one of Satan’s traps.

WE ARE NOT TO PUT OURSELVES UNDER THE LAW! Being ‘Torah observant’ is exactly that: going back under The Law.

‘For sin shall not have dominion over you: for YE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW, but under grace? God forbid.’ (Romans 6:14-15)

‘But if ye be led of the Spirit, YE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW.’ (Galatians 5:18)

If someone tries to tell you that you need to be ‘keeping Torah’ or be under the dietary laws, hold up your hand and tell them to stop. If you are born again, YOU ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW.

So many people come to the crossroads, where the ‘broad path’ has apparently diverged in two direction, and they don’t know what to do. On the one hand, they can’t stomach the ‘easy believism’, ‘easy grace’, and ‘once saved always saved’ heresy that is preached in most churches. On the other hand, they know they aren’t supposed to go back under The Law, but it seems the better option. So they go tentatively in that direction, planning not to put their trust in The Law . . . but Satan, through fear and clever subtlety convinces them, little by little, that they must.

STOP!! If you find yourself at that fork in the road, just stop. Do NOT go to the left. Do NOT go to the right. Look behind you and you will see that you have been on the BROAD PATH. In other words, you missed your turn awhile back. The BROAD PATH of destruction is NOT going to connect you with the NARROW PATH. You need to get OFF the broad path and find the narrow path. By the grace of God, you will find it, if you will seek it.

The narrow path is not the path of licentiousness and ‘do as thou wilt’, in the name of ‘liberty in Christ’. Nor is the narrow path the constraining, all-consuming task of trying to be justified by keeping the requirements of The Law (a yoke which neither the Jews nor their fathers were able to bear; Acts 15:10).

Jesus’ yoke is easy and His burden is light. Keep the (ten) Commandments, love God, and love one another. Give yourself 100% to this lifestyle–not just outwardly, but from the heart–and you will satisfy God’s righteous requirements.

There are those who go around laying a guilt trip on others who are not in church. They are quick to quote: Forsake not ‘the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is.’

But Jesus taught that we are to worship IN SPIRIT and in truth. Certainly if we are honest on Facebook, or in Christian forums, we are meeting with others SPIRIT to SPIRIT. And we must not forget WHY we are told to meet together–the important thing is that we fulfill the FUNCTION not merely the FORM (being present together with others).

‘And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins’ (Hebrews 10:24-26)

Let’s analyze this passage.

First: WHY is Paul instructing us to do something?

Answer: because ‘if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins’.  So, whatever Paul is instructing us to do, is going to be intended as a remedy or prevention against willful sin (backsliding).

Second: WHAT are we being instructed to do?

Some will say that we are being instructed to go to church, even every time the doors are open, if possible. Is this a remedy or prevention for backsliding? Maybe.

I propose, however, that we are being instructed to ‘consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works’ and ‘exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching’. Is this a remedy or prevention for backsliding? I think it’s our best bet.

So, now we are left with two instructions:

1. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together

2. ‘consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works’ and ‘exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching’

If we can do both, all is well and good. But if, as is often the case today, we can only do one or the other–which do we choose?

1. The Form: assembling ourselves together

2. The Function: provoking each other unto love and good works, and exhorting one another

I would say that function is FAR more important than form. Furthermore, in the case of assembling via Facebook or Christian Forums, I do not see this as a conflict with the instruction to assemble together. If we are honest online, we are meeting with others SPIRIT to SPIRIT. If worship (meeting with God) is to be done IN SPIRIT and in truth–how is it any less acceptable to meet with one another IN SPIRIT?

It has been a long, LONG time since I attended a church service and felt I was in spiritual communion with OTHERS there. Sure, I was in spiritual communion with God, but I found VERY few like-minded Christians in churches, and less and less as time went on. Most of the people I met there were very content to scrupulously fulfill the FORM of Paul’s instruction–but the spirit to spirit communion, the loving, provoking, and exhorting one another, were just not there.

This is what we call ‘religion’: the outward form, without the inner substance.

I found most people in church were surprisingly carnal, and until I gradually lost my zeal for God and came to adopt more carnal thinking and living myself (in other words, I backslid) . . . until then, I was not on the same wavelength as them. This desire for fellowship and acceptance caused me to backslide again and again.

I have learned now, that it is better to walk with God, with zeal for righteousness, even if I walk alone.
