Sometimes we get discouraged and think we cannot be effective for God, because we cannot do great things. But lets look at salt. Jesus compared us to salt. If you salt your food and then look at it with a magnifying glass, here is what you will see: tiny little crystals of salt SPRINKLED over the whole meal. We do not place a salt block on our plate. Nor do we salt our food with large chunks. Instead, we randomly strew the tiniest little particles of salt over the whole meal, and the effect is delicious.

You may never be called to do anything ‘big’ for God. But do you know that every kind word you do (or do not) speak, every truth you do (or do not) share, every smile or hug you do (or do not) bestow on another, every time you do (or do not) share with someone in need, every loving thing you do (or do not) do, is like a single crystal of salt.

When your life is said and done, will the result of your influence be delicious, or tasteless and unsatisfying, to the one who judges all?
