Some say that we don’t need to worry about things, because God is in control.  Is that true?  Ultimately . . . and universally . . . and EVENTUALLY here on Earth, yes.  But not presently.  The Bible itself tells us:

“We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.” (1 John 5:19)

Also

“The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.  And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.”  (Luke 4:5-6)

In the beginning, God gave dominion over all the Earth to Adam and Eve. (Genesis 1:26) But when they sinned, they forfeited that dominion to Satan.

It changes everything, when you understand that Satan has legal  dominion.  He has the legal authority to do as he wishes with the Earth, and everything and everyone in it . . . EXCEPT those who belong to God.  He can do no more with us, than what God allows.  God has created special rules and boundaries for us, to ensure our protection and provision, while we are ‘in enemy territory’ (on this Earth).

People blame God when bad things happen.  No!  Blame the god of this world, because it is under his dominion.

We, the people who belong to God, are rebel fighters here. We are here for a reason!  Our kingdom is not of this world!   We are participating in the ultimate coup.  We are rebelling against the rules and structure that Satan is putting in place.  We defy his authority over us.

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”  (Matthew 11:12 KJV)

Another translation makes it clearer:

“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.”

Daniel 7 tells of the destruction of the Antichrist’s kingdom–the pinnacle of Satan’s efforts on Earth–and the initiation of the heavenly kingdom of Jesus Christ, on Earth:

“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed.”  (Daniel 7:13-14)

and again

” . . . And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.”  (Daniel 7:26-27)

This is also prophesied, differently, in Daniel 2:44:

“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.”

Also in Revelation 11, at the seventh trumpet:

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become [the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God,  Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.”

(Other translations clarify the tense:

“. . . because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.” )

We have been given access to great spiritual weapons and power to use in this fight–but rather than use them, many have sought to blend in . . . to find their place here . . . to hide amongst the natives.  Others attempt to use the power for their own selfish desires.

The hour is late.  It is time for sleeping Christians to wake up, to put on the armor of God, to rise up and defeat the powers of darkness, through obedience to our Lord!

“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. ”  (Daniel 12:1-3)

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. ”  (Revelation 12:11)

“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.”  Daniel 7:7

“Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others and most terrifying, with its iron teeth and bronze claws—the beast that crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left.”  Daniel 7:19

“He gave me this explanation: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it.  The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom.”   Daniel 7:23-24

So, who is the fourth beast? (Also see:  ‘Iron and Clay’) My strong opinion is that it is a coalition of Muslim Socialist nations, headed by the new Amerika (a Socialist, Islamic re-incarnation of America).  Prominent in this coalition will be a Muslim Britain, a Muslim Russia, and a Muslim India.  (See my previous posts about the first, second and third beasts.)

“And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.  The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.”  Revelation 13:1-2

I believe that the seven heads of the beast represent America’s [pre-Obama] ruling elite.  Obama came to the presidency via the same channels, hence he is ‘of the seven’.  However, he and his high level backers are represented by the beast that rises up underneath the harlot and overthrows her.  It is quite possible that the ‘Council of [ten] Governors’ represents the ten horns that will be given authority to rule ‘for one hour’.

Back to the subject of the fourth beast . . . what we have lived through in the last two years has been a little glimpse of what it will be like. Think about the heavy handed way in which Obama has run this country since his election.  Remember the WAY in which things have been done–how things have been shoved down our throats.  Think about the total disrespect of our will . . . the absolute disregard of our rights and freedoms . . . the dehumanizing ways in which we are beginning to be treated . . .

If I am right about this, we are living through the birth of  The Fourth Beast.

“Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.

“The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.

“And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’

“After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.

“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.” Daniel 7:2-7

The third was like a leopard . . .

“After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.”   Daniel 7:6

I believe this refers to India.

Although the Scripture verse says that the beast looked like a leopard, my understanding is that the terms lion and leopard can be used interchangeably.  At any rate, the original word in this verse, that is translated ‘leopard’, is used only one time in the entire Bible–and it is used figuratively.  This may leave some room for interpretation.

British heraldry (the art of designing and interpreting coats of arms, based on a formal system of rules) may offer some insight.  In fact, just before India became a nation, it was a British colony–so I don’t think it is too far fetched to assume that British symbolism may be relevant.

Wikipedia has this to say:

“The heraldic leopard differs from the real-life leopard (Panthera pardus). It does not have any spots and often has a mane. In heraldry, the leopard is also generally similar to a lion. The reason for this lies in the fact that in the Middle Ages leopards were thought to be a crossbreed between a lion and a panther. This was retained in heraldry.

The difference between leopards and lions passant guardant is scant, if any, and the two terms are generally interchangeable. The beasts on the Coat of arms of England are generally referred to as lions.

Some countries use the leopard in heraldry, which dates back to the colonial rule of the British.”

Symbolically, a leopard can be viewed as a smaller version of a lion–which could explain the significance of British colonies using leopards in their heraldry.

The four wings (two pairs) on the back of leopard represent Pakistan and Bangladesh, which broke away from India and became independent nations.

‘This beast had four heads’ . . .

‘and it was given authority to rule.’

August 15, 1947 Britain granted India its independence, giving it the authority to rule.

“After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.”   Daniel 7:6

Interpretation given in Daniel 7:17 is that each of the four beasts in Daniel’s vision is a kingdom ‘that will rise from the earth’.

We are also told that [the first three] beasts, at some point, were ‘ stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time’.  Daniel 7:12

“And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’

I believe this must refer to Russia.  The bear is only a national emblem of Russia.

A Medved (bear)

Interestingly, the name of Russia’s current president (Dmitry Medvedev) means bear (‘honey eater’).

I envision this beast reclining on one side, with the remains of its recent meal in its mouth–three ribs.  I believe this signifies that when it is told to ‘get up and eat your fill of flesh’,  it will have fairly recently conquered three countries.

Bear Raised Up On One Side

I would keep my eye on the region between Russia and the Middle East.  Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are strategically located, and may very well be targets of future Russian land grabs.

I wish I had more to say about this second beast, but I will just have to add to the post later, if and when I learn more.  It does seem though, that the bear being ONLY the emblem of Russia, and the meaning of the name of Russia’s current leader being ‘bear’, is almost a deliberate reassurance that this is the correct interpretation–no matter how unlikely it seems.

“The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.”   Daniel 7:4

I believe this refers to Great Britain.  Richard the Lionhearted (King Richard I) chose a 3 lion emblem for the royal coat of arms. During his reign, this warrior-king led the third Crusade, to liberate Jerusalem and the Holy Land from Islamic rule.  I believe Richard the Lionhearted may foreshadow Jesus Christ, in the context of this prophecy.

Richard The 3 Lions Coat Of ArmsLionhearted’s Coat Of Arms

Jesus, at His return, will also be a warrior-king, and  I am fairly confident that Islam  will be the ‘end time religion’ and the ‘abomination that causes desolation’, from which Jesus Christ will liberate us.  I am sure that there is much more symbology here than what I can see.

Britain’s lion emblem has changed over time.  But, it does not appear that there ever was an official emblem of a lion with wings, for Great Britain.  The two wings, that were plucked off, represent the United States of America.  Symbolically, they originate from within the lion, become mobile and move away from the lion, and then sever their dependence upon the lion.  It is also fitting, because the emblem of the United States is the eagle.

At some point, the lion’s position changed and today’s British lion stands erect, on two feet, like a man.

British Lion Emblem

If you didn’t catch it yet–“and the heart of a man was given to it”  is a clever play on words that refers to Richard the Lionhearted.  As with all of God’s Word, many layers of truth are contained in every passage, intricately woven together.

Richard Lionheart

King Richard I (Richard Lionheart)

“The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.”   Daniel 7:4

Even more fascinating than all of this though, is what can be learned when one delves into the meaning of the coats of arms of Britain!  There was a time, in Britain’s history, when the British knew their ancestry.  It is depicted amidst the rich symbology of their royal coats of arms and national emblems.  Although, today, the knowledge has been largely lost, Britain is the tribe of Ephraim, to which Joseph gave his blessing.

United Kingdom's Royal Coat Of Arms

United Kingdom's Royal Coat Of Arms

The United States is Manasseh (brother of Ephraim), and also heir to the blessing.  When one understands this, ‘all the pieces fall into place’.  Suddenly recent history and world geopolitics make sense.  We realize that America was not inadvertently omitted from the scriptures.  The characteristics of different people groups have a historical context, and we realize–more than ever–what most of us have known deep in our hearts: that America was a nation, founded and blessed by God, and that we ARE His people!

The Fourth Kingdom–Iron And Clay

“Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others.

Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay.

As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.  And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.

In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.”  Daniel 2: 40-44

This passage is the interpretation of a dream that king (of Babylon) Nebuchadnezzar had.  It consisted of a statue made of various metals.  It represented the various world empires that would come, beginning at the head (the Babylonian empire) and ending at the toes (the divided end of the Roman empire).

The early Roman empire was essentially divided in two–the East and the West.  The western portion of the Roman empire eventually morphed into the British Empire, which eventually morphed into the American Empire.

“Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. ”  Daniel 2:40

The ‘fourth kingdom’  (1st. Babylonian  2nd. Medo-Persian  3rd. Greek  4th. Roman) is also represented as the end-time ‘beast’ empire in Daniel 7:

“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast–terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.”  Daniel 7:7

which is parallel to the description given in Revelation 13:

“And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.   The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.  One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.  Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?”  Revelation 13: 1-4

Whether this fourth beast is a future, ‘revived’ United States, or whether it is a coalition or alliance of  ‘western nations’ that is led by the U.S., will remain to be seen.  But, I believe the dominant player and character of this ‘beast’ empire, will be America.

Accordingly, in the not-so-distant future, America (or the coalition of nations) will suffer a potentially fatal wound to one of its ‘heads’.

Once revived, and as a result of the trauma from the near-fatal blow, it will have a different character than before.  It will be anti-God through and through.  It will dominate by strong displays of power.  The previous structure of government and power (represented as  seven heads) will be destroyed by the near-fatal wound, and in its place will rise a structure ruled by ten leaders.

“Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. ”  Daniel 2:41

I believe this description is of America, and the ‘western nations’.  America is a nation of united sovereign states.  Thus, it can be said that it is divided into states.  Politically and ideologically, we are also very divided now.    While I believe this passage speaks primarily to the American Empire, I think similar conclusions can be drawn regarding the other ‘western nations’, many of which are members of the European Union.

“As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.  And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay. ”  Daniel 2:42-43

I think this is a pretty good description of America today, as well as many western nations.  A sobering point here is that “the people . . . will not remain united”.

The final point to be made, is that Jesus IS coming back soon, to establish His kingdom on Earth.

“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.”  Daniel 2:44

and

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.   His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.   The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.  On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.”

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.”  Revelation 19:11-21

His return is very near.
