We All Sin Every Day . . . ???

Christians don’t ‘all sin every day’. When we repent of our sins and turn to Christ by faith, in sincerity, He gives us a new heart and we hate the sin we used to love. Not only that, He fills us with His Spirit, who gives us the power to wrestle with sin and be able to say ‘no’ to it.

Did you ever repent when you came to Christ? Did you ever confess your sins to God, ask Him to forgive you, and make up your mind to live the way He wants you to? No, you don’t have to answer to me. But, as a Christian, I have to ask.

It seems that the ‘churches’ today are so keen not to offend anyone that they don’t dare tell people they are sinners, and that they need to repent. But if we don’t repent, then we don’t receive the new heart I told you about, nor do we receive the Holy Spirit to help us stop sinning. God only gives those things (and eternal life) to those who are sincere in their commitment to turn away from sin and to obey Him. Just BELIEVING in God is not enough.

‘Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.’ (Matt. 7:21)

‘And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and DO NOT the things which I say?

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, AND DOETH THEM, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

But he that heareth, AND DOETH NOT, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.’ (Luke 6:46-49)

Christians rarely sin on purpose, because when we allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us, He does not lead us into sin–and if we start to go astray, He will convict us (make us feel bad) to warn us. Sin separates us from God, and we do not WANT to sin, so when the Holy Spirit shows us we are doing something wrong, we repent and stop.

To sin in ways we do not know . . . sometimes we do. And the Holy Spirit sometimes overlooks those things for a time, and leads us to learn the truth about them. What we do after we learn the truth is important, because if we continue to do something that is wrong after He has taught us, and warned us not to, then that is a serious thing.

‘For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.’ (Heb. 10:26-27)

Those who are truly children of God are serious about not wanting to sin, and serious about learning how God expects us to live, and being obedient. We do not brush off warnings, and we do not stiffen our necks and go our own stubborn way.

I hope you will honestly examine yourself, your attitudes, and how you came to Christ. If you have not truly repented, it would be a tragedy for you not to realize you aren’t really a Christian until you are standing before the Lord on Judgment Day. I urge you to make things right today.

The gospel is something like this . . .

You have committed a capital offense. You are presently free on bond, but you know that you will soon be sentenced to death.

Your lawyer calls you and tells you that there has been a very unusual development in your case. A certain man is willing to pay a very high price in order that you be released to him. You will be his servant for seven years. During that time you will NOT go back to your former life. You will be trained in a new way of living, and you are guaranteed to be rehabilitated, if you are obedient to the training. All charges against you will then be dropped.

Now, TECHNICALLY someone COULD say that you will go to the electric chair if you do not accept his offer. (In the same way that people say you will go to hell if you do not accept Jesus Christ as your savior.)

But lets make this critical distinction: YOU FACING THE ELECTRIC CHAIR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS MAN!! You are facing the death penalty, because of YOUR CRIME.

This man has graciously offered to INTERVENE on your behalf. It would be incorrect to say that if you reject his offer, the judge sentenced you to the death penalty BECAUSE YOU REJECTED HIS OFFER, right?

Likewise, we are all condemned to death–NOT FOR REJECTING JESUS–but for our SINS!!

(Don’t let unbelievers bait you into this trap, saying that the God you serve is cruel and egotistical. This distinction is CRITICAL in understanding the true nature of God, and Jesus’ role in salvation.)

The ‘gospel’ preached by mainstream churchianity is a greatly distorted gospel. They tell you that you have to accept Jesus Christ as your savior or God will throw you in hell.

Here we have SOME truth that has been satanically twisted into an ultimatum that GREATLY MISREPRESENTS the nature of God! This gospel basically says that you are BORN a sinner because Adam sinned (you had no choice). It then coerces you into accepting a ‘God’ that is so insecure and egotistical that he will torment you eternally if you reject him. THIS IS A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL!!

The BIBLICAL gospel is that we are each born with a sin NATURE because of Adam’s sin, and that each of us will eventually become a prisoner to sin by yielding to it. But even though each of us GREATLY OFFENDS, and sins against, our perfect God, He holds out His hands to us in mercy and says ‘Come to me, I’ve made a way for you. Why choose death?’

This is not a God that rounds up all His enemies and eternally torments them!! He is a God that sees mankind on the highway to hell, and sends messengers ahead of them, to stand before each exit saying ‘Turn here!! Get off this road that takes you to your ultimate destruction!!’

Be very careful of the gospel you preach!!! No one is born a sinner. Each of us has a choice. We are/were each headed to hell because of our OWN choices and actions. None of us is innocent–every one of us has sinned. But God has intervened in each of our lives, many times, in an attempt to get us to change our mind and our course.

The Apostles and early Christians never tried to guilt or terrify people into accepting Jesus Christ–and it simply doesn’t work!! In order to become a Christian, you must GIVE UP your life. Yet the kind of people that turn to God only because of fear of punishment are usually the sort of people that want to KEEP their life. They are false converts. They will not be able to endure the narrow road, and will eventually turn back to their sins. This false gospel is to blame for the eternal damnation of many people who think ‘been there and tried that–didn’t work for me’.

The true gospel is about helping people to realize that they have CHOSEN to sin, and for THAT they are eternally separated from God–and the only place where one can go after death that is without God (who fills the universe) is a godless place called hell, that is specially set apart for those that hate Him. NO ONE goes to hell, except by their own CHOICE to sin.

Nevertheless, Jesus Christ laid down His life, to bridge the separation between man and God, for those who are WILLING TO REPENT AND OBEY HIM.

There is no coercion. EVERYONE is on the road to hell–but there is a way of escape.

People aren’t thrown into hell for rejecting Jesus–they merely forfeit their only chance of mercy and pardon.

Two thousand years ago, a prophet had a vision of the future. The time he saw appears to be in our very near future. Pharmaceutical drugs would be prevalent. Homosexuality and violence would be widespread. There would be earthquakes, wars, and famines throughout the globe.

He warned of a huge, powerful government with global influence. It would be tied in with major corporations. The government would be very wicked at its core. The leader would be evil and narcissistic. He would be idolized by the people, and would demand their worship. A powerful, false, religious system would endorse him, and aid him in his endeavors.

This government would have the technology to be able to control all the people on Earth. In order to be able to buy or sell things, the people would have to take a mark in their forehead or in their hand. All who wouldn’t would be shut out of the system.

It would be a time of great tyranny, and a time of much bloodshed. The mark would require a pledge of loyalty. This pledge would be a rejection of the true and living God–Jesus Christ. All who took the mark would be forever damned.

This day is fast approaching. Look around you. Look at your culture. Look at what the idols of music, movies, and sports are promoting. How much of this prophecy has not yet been fulfilled?

How could a man have made all this up 2,000 years ago? Technology did not even exist in that day. People did not have indoor toilets. Water had to be carried from wells. People grew their own food . . . raised their own animals. Only shamans and witch doctors employed drugs. Earthquakes were exceedingly rare. There were no corporations.

Two thousand years ago he saw it. Today things are falling into place. I urge you to read the last book of the Bible: Revelation.

——————————————————————————————-
Oh–and one last thing . . . a major twist in the plot: what is today calling itself ‘Christianity’ is not what the Bible calls Christianity. Today’s false Christianity may very well be an integral part of the false religious system that the prophet warned about.

Remember–it was the religious leaders of His day that persecuted and killed Jesus and His followers. Put your faith in GOD–not the teachings of men. Read the Bible for yourself, and ask God to show you what it means and how it is relevant to you.

Tiny Flowers

Each of us has a place and a purpose in the body of Christ. Don’t dishonor God by comparing yourself to others. Instead, bloom where you are planted.

Within your own circle of influence, take advantage of the opportunities that God brings into your life and be obedient to Him. When we humbly submit, and remain thankful even in what seem to be poor and lowly circumstances, we bring pleasure to God.

We don’t have to do grand and wonderful things. We just need to be who He made us to be, and allow Him to display Himself through us.

He is the same God who planted tiny little flowers in the grass. You may not think much of them as you tread them underfoot–but if you take the time to examine them with a magnifying glass, you will see the intricate beauty and care that He puts into each one of them, just as He does with everything He makes. Then step back and see the beauty they add, when thousands of them are strewn throughout a meadow.

Don’t ever think you are less important or less worthy than anyone else. You may just be . . . smaller.

Jesus IS God–God The Son

It is critical that we know who Jesus Christ is.  Jesus is not just ‘the son of man’, He is God incarnate (in flesh).

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. . . ALL THINGS WERE MADE BY HIM; and without him was not ANY THING made that was made. . . He was in the world, and the world WAS MADE BY HIM, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name . . . And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.’ (John 1:1, 3, 10-12, 14)

Jesus IS God in the flesh. ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, AND THE WORD WAS GOD . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us’

If you believe that Jesus was only a man, a prophet, a good teacher, then you are not a Christian. You are not a Christian because the blood of a good man does not pay for your sins.

The blood of a good man can no more take away the sins of the world, than the blood of innocent bulls, goats, and lambs.

‘NO MAN HATH SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].’ (John 1:18)

‘Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what [is] his name, and what [is] his son’s name, if thou canst tell?’ (Proverbs 30:4)

‘Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, [for] the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell [among them].’ (Ps 68:18)

‘And no man hath ascended up to heaven, BUT HE THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, [even] the Son of man WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.’ (John 3:13)

‘(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also THAT ASCENDED UP FAR ABOVE ALL HEAVENS, that he might fill all things.)’ (Ephesians 4:9-10)

‘Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is HE WHICH COMETH DOWN FROM HEAVEN, and giveth life unto the world.

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

And Jesus said unto them, I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. . .

. . . I AM THE LIVING BREAD WHICH CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN . . .

. . . When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? [What] and if ye shall see the Son of man ASCEND UP TO WHERE HE WAS BEFORE? (John 6:32-38, 51, 61-62)

‘So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.’ (Mark 16:19)

‘Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.’ (Luke 22:69)

‘For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O GOD, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom.’ (Hebrews 1:5-8)

I urge you to prayerfully consider what I have said here. If you do not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, then you are either worshiping (who you believe is) a man, or you are stripping God (Jesus) of His divinity and lowering Him to the level of a ‘good man’.  (Actually, probably both.) Neither one of these is the kind of faith that leads to salvation.  A ‘good man’ can’t save you.  Only GOD can.

The Fish Gate

‘There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.’  (Proverbs 16:25)

A way?  I wondered, ‘what is this particular way?’  Surely there are MANY ways that seem right, if there is only ONE way that truly IS right.

Now I understand.  It is the way of the crowd, the way of peer pressure, the way of group consensus.  The way of ‘everybody’s doing it’.  It just seems right, because that’s the direction of the flow.  Most times it doesn’t even occur to us to question it.  We go along without thinking, without critical examination.  It’s what we’ve been taught is ‘normal’.

But, while all the world is swimming downstream, God made Christians, like salmon, to swim upstream.  As we study God’s Word, our eyes become opened to what is acceptable behavior for us, in God’s eyes, and what isn’t.  As long as we submit ourselves to walk IN THE SPIRIT, we find ourselves having a constant urge to swim against the flow.

But the current is strong.  If we don’t continue in The Spirit, we will find ourselves swimming with the crowd too.  But again and again, the urge to go against the flow will return.  Yet if we don’t FOCUS our attention on that urge within us–that inner leading of the Holy Spirit–we will find ourselves passing the same scenery again and again.  Upstream, downstream.  We just don’t seem to be making any progress.

WE MUST CHOOSE to submit ourselves to God daily.  We must CHOOSE to put His will before our own.  We must CHOOSE to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  If we do, His Holy Spirit gives us the supernatural strength and motivation to swim against the flow.  And the longer we do it, the stronger and more motivated we become–just like the salmon that find the water purer and more oxygenated the further upstream they go.  Soon they smell the familiar scent of the shoals where they spent their early life: home!

But if we DON’T choose to submit ourselves to God daily . . . if we DON’T choose to put His will before our own, if we DON’T follow His leading, we will simply be carried along with the flow.

There is yet a deeper parallel here: the issue of fish ladders.  Take the case of the Chittenden Locks: here boats are moved between Lake Washington and Puget Sound.  As always, water moves downstream.  However, it is not advantageous for migrating salmon to get caught in the huge locks, because the way they are constructed makes it virtually impossible for them to make their way upstream.  Therefore, a narrow ‘fish ladder’ was constructed on one side of the lock.  (But not every salmon finds it.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiram_M._Chittenden_Locks#Fish_ladder

Understanding the fish ladder brings new understanding to Jesus’ parable:

‘Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.’  (Matthew 7:13-14)

Although God made us a ‘fish gate’, a way of salvation, we still must STRIVE to enter in.  We still must be the ones to CHOOSE to swim upstream and make the journey.  God has put everything needful in place for us, and will even turbocharge us to reach our destination, but He’s not going to airlift us there.  What is needful, is for us to choose to TURN and SWIM!

‘Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.’  (Luke 13:24)

Many preTrib Rapture teachers have TERRIFIED Christians with horrible descriptions of what they believe things will be like during the Tribulation. They paint a picture of a desolate, hopeless existence where God has withdrawn His Spirit from the Earth and any who come to Him are pretty much left to fend for themselves.

Nothing could be further from the truth! God is a loving Father and He will not abandon us in our hour of greatest need.

‘ . . . lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.’ (Jesus, Matt. 28:20)

‘The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.’ (Psalms 34:22)

‘But the salvation of the righteous [is] of the LORD: [he is] their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.’ (Psalms 37:39-40)

‘And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the PEOPLE THAT DO KNOW THEIR GOD shall be strong, and do [exploits].’ (Daniel 11:32)

‘The LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.’ (Nahum 1:7)

Most of those that preach a (false) preTrib Rapture do not understand the wickedness they do. Not only do they create false hope in an escape from tribulation, which is contrary to God’s will . . .

‘These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world YE SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.’ (Jesus, John 16:33)

‘I pray NOT THAT THOU SHOULDEST TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WORLD, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.’ (Jesus, John 17:15)

. . . but these false teachers create terror and a certainty of being abandoned by God, for those who find themselves still here during the Tribulation. Because of their false teachings, MANY will despair and fall away from the faith.

Please understand their teachings are false, and take heart:

‘ . . . and there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother.’ (Proverbs 18:24)

‘ . . . for he hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.’ (Hebrews 13:15)
