Those who say we don’t need to keep God’s Commandments and ‘all we need to do is keep the two greatest commandments’ . . .

‘Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’ (Matt. 22:36-40)

. . . seem to forget that GOD defines how we are to love Him:

‘If ye love me, keep my commandments.’ (John 14:15)

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.’ (1 John 5:3)

Love is not a FEELING! It is a pattern of action towards another. And God says that the pattern of actions that demonstrate our love for HIM is to keep His Commandments.

‘He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.’ (1 John 2:4)

So there you go. This is how God will judge whether or not we really loved Him.

‘And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:’  (1 Peter 1:17)

‘Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.’ (Matt. 7:21)

‘But be ye DOERS of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.’ (James 1:22)
