Bad Fruit

STOP SINNING!!  Stop making excuses for why you can’t stop.  If you knew you only had days to live, and that you were facing the fires of hell, you’d find a way.  The false gospel the ‘churches’ are preaching has you lulled into complacency, thinking that your position is secure, no matter what you do–that you can never fall.  That may be what your pastor teaches, and what the majority in your church believe, but it is not what the Word of God says.  Need I remind you that

‘ . . . STRAIT [is] the gate, and NARROW [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.’  (Jesus, Matthew 7:14)

MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.’  (Jesus, Matthew 7:22-23)

MANY who think they are His, who BELIEVE in Him, who are faithful in their churches, will plead with Him on that day, to let them into His kingdom.  But He will condemn them for ‘working iniquity’!  So much for your ‘all you need to do is believe’ doctrine, and your ‘it’s all under the blood’ doctrine, and your ‘ALL sins past, present, and FUTURE are forgiven’ doctrine.  (If these doctrines were true, then why did Jesus condemn these people?  They believed in Him, and were trusting in Him, and served Him, while they lived sinfully–but He said He never knew them.  Why?)  These doctrines are lies that were conceived in the pit of hell.  Salvation requires EFFORT and DEDICATION on your part.

‘ . . . but he that ENDURETH TO THE END shall be* saved.’  (Jesus, Matthew 10:22)

(* SHALL BE, not ‘is’)

‘STRIVE to enter in at the strait gate: for MANY, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.’  (Jesus, Luke 13:24)

‘For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall IN NO CASE enter into the kingdom of heaven.’  (Jesus, Matthew 5:20)

‘And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?’  (1 Peter 4:18)

‘Wherefore the rather, brethren, GIVE DILIGENCE TO MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:’  (2 Peter 1:10)

‘. . . WORK OUT your own salvation with fear and trembling.’  (Philippians 2:12)

‘Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.’  (Galatians 6:7-8)

(Notice this verse is in the New Testament, so you can’t claim it doesn’t apply now.)

‘Know ye not that THE UNRIGHTEOUS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD? BE NOT DECEIVED: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.’  (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

If you are trusting in those doctrines (‘all you need to do is believe’,  ‘it’s all under the blood’, and  ‘ALL sins past, present, and FUTURE are forgiven’), you are basing your trust in the word of men–but you’d better start reading the Word of God!  If you ‘sin every day’, then perhaps you never really repented to begin with.  If you did, I’d suggest you take a good look at how you’ve lived since then.  Maybe it’s time to hit your knees and repent again.  The Scriptures are CLEAR:

‘Follow peace with all [men], and HOLINESS, without which no man shall see the Lord:’  (Hebrews 12:14)

and

‘ . . .  Let EVERY ONE that nameth the name of Christ DEPART FROM INIQUITY.’  (2 Timothy 2:19)

TODAY!!  Not some vague day in the future.  You know that if you turn from wickedness to do righteousness, and place your faith in Christ, your past sins are forgotten.  But did you know that if you turn from righteousness to do wickedness again, your past RIGHTEOUSNESS is forgotten?  You may say ‘I put my faith in Jesus’.  But the Word says that faith without works is dead!  If your faith in Jesus is a live faith, you will not produce works of wickedness!

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every GOOD tree bringeth forth GOOD fruit; but a CORRUPT tree bringeth forth EVIL fruit. A good tree CANNOT bring forth evil fruit, NEITHER [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

(‘Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. . .’ (2 Corinthians 13:5))

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit IS HEWN DOWN, AND CAST INTO THE FIRE. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.’  (Jesus, Matthew 7:16-20)

Examine yourself!! If you are producing evil fruit, you are NOT a good tree . . . no matter what you believe, and no matter what you’ve been told!!  Who are  you going to believe?

Yourself?  (‘The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?’  (Jeremiah 17:9))

Your pastor?  ( ‘ . . . let God be true, but every man a liar . . . ‘  (Romans 3:4))

Or the words of the one you say is your Lord?  (‘A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.’  (Jesus, Matthew 7:18))

If you have come to the painful conclusion that you are indeed bearing bad fruit . . . that another spirit is working in you, than the Holy Spirit (because it is the spirit/Spirit working in you that bears fruit after its own kind) . . . there is a remedy for that: REPENT!  The condemnation and sorrow you feel is called ‘Godly sorrow’ . . . the ‘conviction of the Holy Spirit’ . . . and it will produce a harvest of righteousness . . . IF you will submit to it.

Jesus is God in flesh.  He is the living Word of God:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’  (John 1:1)

Jesus was never an angel, cherubim, or other heavenly, created being.  Jesus was not a good man who came and kept all of God’s laws.  Jesus is not simply one manifestation of a ‘christ consciousness’.

Jesus is the only BEGOTTEN son of God.

‘And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.’  (Luke 1:30-35)

‘And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.’  (John 1:14)

‘In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.’  (1 John 4:9)

When people, for any reason, try to persuade us that the gospel of John should not be in the Bible–understand, it is because the gospel of John repeatedly testifies that Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of God, and they reject this truth.

‘Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.’

(1 John 4:2-3)

Salvation is only found in Jesus.  He is the only one who was able to pay the price for our sins.

‘And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed [it], and brake [it], and gave [it] to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.’  (Jesus, Matthew 26:26-28)

And His gospel is this:

‘From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, REPENT: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’  (Jesus, Matthew 4:17)

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever SHALL DO and TEACH [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.’

(Jesus, Matthew 5:17-20)

‘And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.’  (Jesus, Matthew 19:17)

‘Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying, Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt LOVE THE LORD THY GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE THEY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’  (Jesus, Matthew 22:35-40)

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye LOVE ONE ANOTHER; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.’  (Jesus, John 13:34)

‘Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost*: Teaching them to OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.’  (Matthew 28:19-20) (* Yes, Jesus taught the Trinity.)

To recap–Jesus gospel is:

  • Repent
  • Be baptized
  • Keep the Commandments
  • Love one another
  • Share this gospel with everyone

Any other gospel is ‘another gospel’!  Any other Jesus is ‘another Jesus’!

‘I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach ANY OTHER GOSPEL unto you than that which we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCUSED. As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.’  (Galatians 1:6-9)

If your church is preaching any other gospel than the gospel that Jesus preached, or any other Jesus than the Jesus described above: GET OUT, lest you be a partaker of their sins and suffer their judgment!

Naked Christians

‘The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.  Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and [my] fatlings [are] killed, and all things [are] ready: come unto the marriage.  But they made light of [it], and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: And the remnant took his servants, and entreated [them] spitefully, and slew [them].  But when the king heard [thereof], he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.’   (Matthew 22:2-7)

This is a quick summary of the history of Israel, through AD 70.

‘Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.  Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.  So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.’  (Matthew 22:8-10)

This summarizes taking the gospel to all the world.

‘And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man WHICH HAD NOT ON A WEDDING GARMENT: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast [him] into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

For many are called, but few [are] chosen.‘  (Matthew 22:11-14)

This is a warning for today.  It is not enough just to answer the gospel invitation.  We must be clothed in a proper wedding garment!  And what is that garment?

‘ . . . as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might SANCTIFY and CLEANSE it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, NOT HAVING SPOT, OR WRINKLE, or any such thing; but that it should be HOLY AND WITHOUT BLEMISH.’  (Ephesians 5:25-27)

‘For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after RIGHTEOUSNESS, GODLINESS, FAITH, LOVE, PATIENCE, MEEKNESS.  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called . . . That thou keep [this] commandment WITHOUT SPOT, UNREBUKEABLE, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:’  (1 Timothy 6:10-14)

‘ . . . be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, WITHOUT SPOT, and BLAMELESS.’  (2 Peter 3:14)

(If it depended only on Jesus Christ’s righteousness, we would not be told to BE DILIGENT.)

Our wedding garment is the spiritual fruit we bear, the faith we live by, and the holiness of our lifestyle.

‘ . . . that they should repent and turn to God, and DO WORKS MEET FOR REPENTANCE.’  (Acts 26:20)

‘But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE: against such there is no law.  And they that are Christ’s have CRUCIFIED THE FLESH WITH THE AFFECTIONS AND LUSTS.’  (Galatians 5:22-24)

‘For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath BEFORE ORDAINED THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM.’  (Ephesians 2:10)

‘By FAITH Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that HE PLEASED GOD.’  (Hebrews 11:5)

‘And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; FOR THEE HAVE I SEEN RIGHTEOUS before me in this generation.’  (Genesis 7:1)

‘Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us CLEANSE OURSELVES from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, PERFECTING HOLINESS in the FEAR OF GOD.’  (2 Corinthians 7:1)

‘ . . . for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now YIELD YOUR MEMBERS servants to RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO HOLINESS . . . But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, YE HAVE YOUR FRUIT UNTO HOLINESS, and the end everlasting life.’  (Romans 6:19, 22)

In verse thirteen, we saw what happened to the guest who had come to the wedding feast without a garment:

‘Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and TAKE HIM AWAY, and CAST [HIM] INTO OUTER DARKNESS; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Jesus repeats this teaching again . . .

‘Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles TO BURN THEM: but gather the wheat into my barn.’

(Matthew 13:30)

And again . . .

‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit HE TAKETH AWAY: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.   Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is CAST FORTH as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and CAST [THEM] INTO THE FIRE, and they are burned.’  (John 15:1-6)

Paul teaches with this same spiritual understanding:

‘For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:  But that which beareth thorns and briers [is] REJECTED, and [is] nigh unto cursing; WHOSE END [IS] TO BE BURNED.

But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. . . And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:  That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. . . And so, after [Abraham] had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.’  (Hebrews 6:7-15)

Salvation does not come at our profession of faith.  We receive salvation if we endure to the end and produce the spiritual fruit that comes from a life of holiness and sanctification.

‘And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that endureth TO THE END shall be saved.’  (Matthew 10:22)

‘But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF WE HOLD FAST the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope FIRM UNTO THE END.’  (Hebrews 3:6)

The key to bearing spiritual fruit is to abide in Jesus.

‘Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same BRINGETH FORTH MUCH FRUIT: for without me ye can do nothing.’  (John 15:4-5)

Hear two final warnings, for our generation:

** ‘Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and KEEPETH HIS GARMENTS, LEST HE WALK NAKED, and they see his shame.’  (Revelation 16:15)

**’ And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art LUKEWARM, and neither cold nor hot, I WILL SPUE THEE OUT OF MY MOUTH.

BECAUSE THOU SAYEST, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and KNOWEST NOT THAT THOU ART WRETCHED, and MISERABLE, and POOR, and BLIND, and NAKED: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and WHITE RAIMENT, THAT THOU MAYEST BE CLOTHED, and [that] the SHAME OF THY NAKEDNESS do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, THAT THOU MAYEST SEE.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: BE ZEALOUS therefore, and REPENT.’  (Revelation 3:14-19)

Those who teach that any effort on the part of a Christian is ‘works’, and that ‘works’ void our salvation, are misleading people. Here are some passages from Scripture that should demonstrate that self-will and effort ARE required, on our part:

‘ . . . that they should repent and turn to God, and DO WORKS MEET FOR REPENTANCE.’ (Acts 26:20)

‘ . . . BE DILIGENT that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.’ (2 Peter 3:14)

‘Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, LET US CLEANSE OURSELVES from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, PERFECTING HOLINESS in the fear of God.’ (2 Corinthians 7:1)

‘ . . . WORK OUT your own salvation with fear and trembling.’ (Philippians 2:12)

‘ . . . for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now YIELD YOUR MEMBERS servants to righteousness unto holiness.’ (Romans 6:19)

‘ . . . PUT OFF concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And BE RENEWED in the spirit of your mind; And that ye PUT ON the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.’ (Ephesians 4:22-24–and more in verses 25-32)

‘[This] I say then, WALK in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.’ (Galatians 5:16)

‘But thou, O man of God, FLEE these things; and FOLLOW AFTER righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. FIGHT the good fight of faith, LAY HOLD ON eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.’ (1 Timothy 6:11-12)

A correct interpretation of Ephesians 2:8-9 . . .

‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.’

. . . is that none of us can stand before God as righteous, based on our works. Yet, in the VERY NEXT VERSE (!) we are told that:

‘For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.’ (Ephesians 2:10)

I recently read an article, that summarized the recent super derecho that hit the eastern U.S. There were some things the author said that stood out, like a story in themselves . . .

‘The storm that hit the D.C.area . . . started on the west side of Chicago and gained speed, following a jet stream east. ‘

‘This is probably one of the biggest ones we’ve ever seen … probably one of the worst storms ever in D.C.’

‘The major takeaway from this storm . . . was the size of its swath, he says.

‘Outside of a hurricane, you will never see wind damage this widespread or this long-lived unless you had a land-falling hurricane.’

Call me crazy, but I see a parallel between this storm and our president. The above quotes make it even more evident.  Our president came out of Chicago and swooped into the White House as if carried by a jet stream. He has created a wide swath of destruction, and has been the most destructive person, by far, to ever lead this country.

I shared this story with a like-minded friend:

Hey, check out this article. To me it parallels what has happened since O took office–like HE was the derecho:

http://www.wtop.com/41/2925683/Science-behind-rare-derecho-storm-that-hit-Friday

(Let’s see if you notice the same things I did . . . )

Here was his response:

‘Yes, I did see the parallels in that story just like you did. Thank God for giving us eyes to see and ears to hear! God spoke to the nation, but very few heard Him. The country is indeed being divided, raging wildfires in the west and storms in the east. And the summer heat is in full swing across most of the nation. I don’t think that it was a coincidence that these storms happened right before Independence day either.’

How much longer will we be a free people? God is trying to wake people up–calling us to repent. He’s showing us, through nature, what has happened to our country so far, because of sin. But what is coming, if we don’t repent, will be far worse!

(Maybe someone sees a similar ‘picture’ through the fires we’re having–if so, please share it in the comments . . . )

If you agree with these interpretations . . . or see other ways God is speaking to us through events, TELL PEOPLE!! It is up to the people of God to share the interpretations with others, else how can they understand? Be a Daniel!! Make the most of every opportunity to share God’s message with others!

Most people understand that America has been blessed, but those who write history have left God out of the story.  Our children suppose that things have always been this way, and always will be.  Here is how God would describe America’s recent past:

If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make [you] afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.  And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.’  (Lev. 26:3-12)

Does this not perfectly describe America since World War 2?  All that we have had has come from God, but it was conditioned upon one thing:  that we walk in His ways.  Our laws were founded upon His commandments.  People followed those laws because it was the right thing to do.  People didn’t look for loopholes.  They didn’t obey only so long as someone was watching.  They were upright in their hearts.

But then came the sixties, the time of the great rebellion.  The hearts of the children turned away from God and His ways.  They ran after the pleasures of sin instead.  But the pleasures of sin last only for a season.  Fifty years later, God is giving His last calls for repentance.  If the heart of our nation doesn’t turn soon, our future is already written . . .

‘But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, [but] that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.’  (Lev. 26:14-18)

If you feel the list bit of guilt today, confess to God and get right with Him . . . because it seems to be, that when hardship falls on those whose hearts are hard, it hardens them even more.  When trouble comes, you may be too proud and too angry to repent.

I talk a lot about how the preTrib Rapture, Easy Grace, and Once Saved Always Saved doctrines are wrong.  I say that they preach ‘another gospel’ about ‘another Jesus’ and produce (so-called, self-professed) ‘Christians’ that are really more accurately called unconverted believers.  One such person recently (mockingly) asked me:

“So….how do you live exactly?? Do you know without a doubt where you would go if you died right now? or do you have some unconfessed sin in your life that wouldn’t allow you in heaven….like maybe anger that i detected in your last comment??If i believed the way you do along with catholics, coc, aog, and all the other RELIGIONS, i’d be repenting and trying to get saved every 5 min because i might say an idle word and Jesus could come or i could die the next second. No peace….”

First of all, unless one blasphemes the Holy Spirit, they are not going to ‘lose’ their salvation in 5 minutes.  ‘Lose your salvation’ is a term that this person uses, but I don’t like that term because it is misleading.  It gives the impression of a person setting something down and forgetting where they put it . . . or maybe that someone has taken it away.  It is a passive term that doesn’t convey any responsibility for what happened.  No one can separate us from God.  But we CAN separate ourselves from God.  Therefore, I believe it is more accurate to say that someone can FORFEIT their salvation.

God has given each of us free will, and that is not something that He takes away from us, once we become a Christian.  (Paul told of different people who had turned away from Christianity.  We ALWAYS have the option to stop living for God.)  Let me make it clear first, that if we are walking with Christ, his grace covers us from sins we commit without realizing.  His death covers all our sins, as long as we CONTINUE walking with Him.  But He doesn’t cover our sins if we turn away.  Now I’m not going to split hairs over what it means to turn away–how long a person can backslide without forfeiting their salvation.  That is a heart matter, and only God knows our hearts.  I DO know that we are warned in Scripture, many times, in many ways, to not turn away.

Free will is also why Satan works through deception.  He cannot SNATCH us out of God’s hand–no one can.  But if he can cause us to WALK AWAY of our own free will, and if we don’t turn back, then he has accomplished what he hoped for.  Make no mistake, God DOES allow our faith to be tested, to see if it is genuine.  Adam and Eve sinned, and the devil deceived them, but he was clever enough to be sure that the way he did it didn’t violate their free will, so they had to bear the blame.

Even though we have our own free will, when we become Christians we commit ourselves into God’s hands for safekeeping.  He will not let us slip away.  He will not cast us away because we commit a sin.  Once we become a Christian, His Spirit lives inside of us.  He will reason with us when we are struggling with sin.  He will give us the power to overcome it, and a way out of temptation.  He will warn us when we go wrong.  But if we don’t listen to His Spirit inside us, warning us, then we are guilty of willful sin.

When we sin willfully and don’t repent, God chastises us.  Every good father disciplines his children, God is no exception.  But if we remain stiffnecked and don’t repent, if we continue to ignore His discipline, eventually our heart becomes so hardened by sin that His Holy Spirit can no longer bring us to a place of remorse and repentance.  When we get to that point, our fate is sealed.  This is not something that happens in five minutes . . . maybe not even in five weeks, or five months.

Do I live in fear?  No.  In fact, it wasn’t until I realized that God loved me even when I was in the midst of my sin . . . and that He loved me enough that He would LET me walk away, if I really wanted to, that I really came to trust Him.  When I was still believing the false gospel and OSAS doctrine, I backslid more than once.  I can tell you from experience that I ALWAYS knew I was in danger.  It was THEN that I lived in fear, because the Holy Spirit clearly warned me of what was on the horizon

‘For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,   But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.’  (Hebrews 10:26-27)

With that misunderstanding hopefully out of the way, I will tell you what my life is like now . . .

I rarely think about, or speak about hell.  My personal belief is that trying to motivate people to love God by scaring them to death about hell only produces bad fruit.  God isn’t mocked.  He is looking for people who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth–not people who come to Him merely for a ‘get out of jail free card’.  But that’s another subject, perhaps for another post.

I walk in fellowship with God daily.  I pray all the time, about all sorts of things.  I feel strength, faith, and courage inside me, from the presence of the Holy Spirit.  Since I became a (fully converted) Christian, I am a new creation.  I have a new heart, and I have the mind of Christ.  I don’t spend my time being totally self-absorbed.  I don’t sin every five minutes.  (Incidentally, being angry is not a sin.  God is angry with the wicked every day.  Jesus was often angry with hypocrites.  Anger without cause is wrong.  Sinning because you’re angry isn’t excused.  But anger itself isn’t wrong.)

When I realize I have sinned (and it doesn’t take long, because the Holy Spirit lets me know), I repent.  I don’t repent because I’m scared of going to hell.  I repent because I hate sin.  I repent because I realize I’ve offended God.  I hate the break in fellowship that I feel, and knowing I’ve displeased Him.  Because I have a new heart, I don’t want to sin.  I hate the things God hates, and I love the things God loves.  I walk in peace–deep peace–daily, because I’m walking in the presence of God and know that we are in agreement.

Yes, I know without a doubt where I would go if I died now.  No, there’s no unconfessed, unforgiven sin in my life right now.  As I said before, when I sin, I know right away.  And when I know, I repent.  If the sin is a bad attitude or unforgiveness, sometimes I have to ask God to help me with it–and He does.  But I no longer try to hide my sins.  I know that God is my Father, who loves me–not some angry judge who’s waiting for me to mess up so He can reject me.  I know He wants to help me overcome my sins, and doesn’t condemn me for them when I confess and desire to turn away from them.

Although mainstream churchianity talks about  Christianity being a relationship, not a religion (and that is true), most mainstream ‘Christians’ don’t really know God.  They imagine they belong to a ‘God’ who doesn’t require much from them, and bends to their will.  The ‘God’ they suppose they have a relationship with, is a ‘God’ of their own making.  They reject the parts of the Bible that offend them.  They reject the parts of God’s character that they don’t understand, and they lack the fear of God.  They may believe SOME of what they know about Him, and they may desire the things that He provides, but most of them are unwilling to make the sacrifice that He requires. The biggest proof of all is that the image they are being conformed to (as evidenced by their actions and attitudes) is not the image of God.

No one comes to God standing on two feet with their pride and self-esteem intact.  Awe at the power, position, and holiness of God, and the realization of our sinfulness and unworthiness, drops us to our knees.  We come to Him broken and sorry.  We begin our walk with Him in humility, gratitude and repentance.  We continue it the same way.  Arrogance is not a fruit of the Holy Spirit.  Neither is ‘self-esteem’.  Our worth is in Him, not in ourselves.  All our righteousness is as filthy rags.  That doesn’t just mean what we DO, but also who we ARE, in ourselves, without Him.  The strength and assurance I have now is not rooted in myself–it’s because I know who leads me by the hand.

In most American Christian circles today, it is near heresy to say anything critical of the nation of Israel.  But it is important that our desire to do right, and to please God, be guided by wisdom and understanding.

Whether or not they offend you, I ask that you prayerfully read and consider the words of Pastor Rick Wiles.  The following is an excerpt from a broadcast on 6/10/11.

“I know this will come as a shock to Pastor John Hagee and all the Christian Zionists, but thousands of sodomites marched in the streets of Tel Aviv, Israel today.  You know, American Christians donate millions of dollars every year to Pastor Hagee so he can give it to Israel.  And  he doesn’t give it to Christians in the Middle East, whose families have been there for two thousand years, and he doesn’t give it to the Jews who believe in the name of Jesus Christ that they may evangelize their fellow Jews.  No, Pastor Hagee gives it to the Israelis who despise Jesus Christ.  It doesn’t make sense does it?

And while millions of American Christians worship the state of Israel like a golden idol, the Israelis themselves are promoting homosexuality–and I thought they are God’s chosen people.  No wonder the Bible calls Jerusalem ‘Sodom and Egypt’ in the last days.

So when will the American church discard this unbiblical theology and realize that if we do not preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to the Jews in Israel, they will burn in the Lake of Fire? So, if you say you love them, why don’t you tell them about Jesus?

Well anyway, thousands of homosexuals and lesbians, including drag queens, marched through the streets of Tel Aviv, Israel today, marking the conclusion of Israel’s ‘Gay Pride Week’.  The sodomy celebration started in Golda Meir Park, named after  the former Prime Minister.  Numerous Israeli politicians spoke to the Jewish homosexuals including Tel Aviv’s mayor, and various members of the City Council.

Tzipi Livni, former cabinet minister, said that all of Israel’s leaders and political parties were obligated to the struggle for equality for homosexuals.  She said “I have come to say that being part of the gay community, to be gay or lesbian or any other member of the community, is not a political choice, as is the choice to protect the gay community and its right for social equality.”  Livni added that “we are here to fight together against any phenomenon of hate, to fight for Israel’s values.”

So, Israel’s values is homosexuality, according to this high-ranking government official.  Member of the Knesset, Nitzan Horowitz, slammed the protest against the gay pride parade saying ” those who speak of an abomination, the abomination is their and he who speaks about illness, he is the sick one”.

So, this Jewish member of the Knesset said anybody who quotes the Bible, and says that homosexuality is an abomination–that person is the abomination.  And if you say it’s a sickness, you’re the one who is sick.

Now somebody should tell the people in Israel that Iran is getting ready to attack them, and they may want to repent of their homosexuality and idolatry before the bombs start flying and the tanks start rolling.

The Israeli Defense Force openly permits homosexuals to serve in the military, and there are thousands of gays in the Israeli army, including many senior Israeli officers.  But can you imagine King David going to war with homosexuals in his army?

Instead of blindly supporting Israel, the church of Jesus Christ should be crying out for the Jews to repent, to turn from their wicked sins, because there is no hope for them, except salvation through Jesus Christ.

And there is a big lie that is told every day on Christian TV and radio programs, and every week in thousands of churches.  It says that America’s security and prosperity depend upon the USA standing with Israel, and that is a lie.  Our security and prosperity depend upon the USA obeying the commandments of God!

Our right standing with God is not based upon us militarily backing a country that celebrates homosexuality and perversion, and denounces Christianity, and bans the conversion of Jews in the country.  The Israelis are spiritually lost, and they are no different today than the Israelites who were dancing around the golden calf when Moses came down from the mountain with the ten commandments written in stone.  So why would God expect us to uphold their rebellion?

America is under judgment right now, and it isn’t because we have turned our back on Israel in the Middle East.  We have turned our back on God, that’s the problem!  God doesn’t give permission to any nation to rebel against His commandments, and Jesus Christ is coming, in power and glory, to judge all the nations, and that includes the USA and Israel.  You will not be saved because you waved a Star of David flag from your front porch, or hung one on your church podium.  You will be saved because the blood of Jesus Christ marks your soul.

And I hear preachers on TV and radio all the time, extolling Israel like it’s an idol.  But the Bible says God retains the prerogative to bless or curse any nation, based on their obedience to Him, and modern day Israel is not obedient, and neither is the USA–and the only thing keeping the USA from collapsing is that there is still a sizable number of blood washed, born again, Spirit filled Christians in this land, who love the Lord with all their hearts, and are grieved over the sins of this nation.

Now, Jeremiah 18 says

“the word, which came to Jeremiah, from the Lord saying ‘Arise and go down to the potter’s house.  I will cause you to hear my words.’  Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was making something at the wheel.  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hands of the potter, so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.  Then the word of the Lord came to me saying ‘Oh house of Israel’ . . .”

No, He didn’t say ‘Oh house of Iran, oh house of Persia, oh house of the Palestinians, He said ‘Oh house of Israel’ . . .

“‘can I not do with you as this potter?’ says the Lord.  ‘Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, oh house of Israel.  The instant I speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck it up, to pull down and destroy it, if that nation, against whom I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.

And the instant I speak, concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in my sight, so that it does not obey my voice, then I will relent concerning the good which I said I would benefit it.  Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem’ . . .”

He didn’t say ‘Moscow’, He didn’t say ‘Beijing’.  He is speaking to the people in Jerusalem.  He is literally speaking to the whole world saying

“‘thus says the Lord, behold I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you.  Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.'”

Now what did they say?  The Bible says in Jeremiah 18 they said

“that is hopeless, so we will walk according to our own plans and we will, every one, obey the dictates of his evil heart.

Therefore, thus says the Lord ‘And now, among the Gentiles, who has heard such things?  The virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.  Will a man leave the snow water of Lebanon, which comes from the rock of the field, will the cold water be forsaken for strange water?  Because my people have forgotten me, and they have burned incense to worthless to idols, and they have caused themselves to stumble from the ancient paths, to walk in the paths and not on the highway, to make their land desolate and a perpetual hissing.  Everyone who passes by it will be astonished and shake his head.  I will scatter them, as with an east wind, before the enemy.  I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity'”.

My friend, if you want to pray for Israel, pray for the true Israel–the Jews, and the Caucasians, and the Africans, and the Asians, and the Latinos, and all the races of men and women on the Earth who believe on the holy name of Jesus Christ, the son of the God of Israel.  Righteousness exalts a nation, sin is a reproach to any people.”

Pastor Rick Wiles  (from TruNews broadcast, 6-10-11)

If a nation–any nation–is doing things that displease God, do you really think that He will curse us if we do not continue to support their agenda?  By no means!  What He expects us to do, if we wish to be a blessing to them, is to pray for them and call them back to Him!!
