A whole generation of self-professed ‘Christians’ are watching end-times events and eagerly awaiting a pre-Trib rapture.  They have failed to stand for righteousness, as our culture grows darker and more wicked, because they hold the hopeful expectation that they will be ‘outta here’ before end-times events transpire.  They don’t believe they will ever see the face of the ‘man of sin’, or be faced with the choice of whether or not they should take the ‘Mark of the Beast’.  They are sure they know the signs to look for, because they watched the entire ‘Left Behind’ series–maybe even twice.  What I’m going to say, they are probably not going to be able to receive, because it would mean that much of what they have been taught–maybe even most of it–was wrong.

Please pray before you read the rest of what I have to say.  Please ask God if it is true.  Don’t merely accept it because it sounds ‘good’ or ‘true’ . . . or reject it because it doesn’t sound right.  Please pray and ask God yourself.  MANY people are going to be swept up in the great delusion, in the days to come.  Yes, it can happen to believers too.  Don’t be one of them.  Love the truth enough to pray and ask God, and to study the Scriptures yourself.

What follows are my OBSERVATIONS and OPINIONS.  I cannot guarantee that things are going to unfold the way I think–but I have studied this for several years, and my opinions are not uninformed.  Let this note be the basis for asking questions, and seeking their answers in prayerful study of the word.

For centuries, the end times events have been shrouded in mystery–and so they continue to be, even to this day.  Even as these things are unfolding, one must have ‘eyes to see’ and ‘ears to hear’.  It is not given to everyone to be aware, as Bible prophecy unfolds.  WHO will be given ‘eyes to see’ and ‘ears to hear’?  Those who serve God wholeheartedly, and with pure motives.

First, lets start with this: ‘New World Order’ is not in the Bible.

This may be a minor point . . . or it may not.  But it must be pointed out.  Many people, both Christian and non-, are looking for a ‘New World Order’ to be birthed, as the fulfillment of Bible Prophecy.  And this ‘New World Order’ has been given a definition, by many leaders of the ‘truther movement’.  But this term, and its definition, are not exactly what the Bible defines.  If we do not want to diverge from the truth, then we must stick with Scripture.  Daniel 7, and Revelation 13 and 17 describe the final ‘beast’ world empire.

Point number two: this generation of ‘WWJD’/’Left Behind’ fans are being deliberately drawn into a ‘truther’ movement that may have started out right, but has deliberately been hijacked to serve the plans of Satan.  Leaders, the likes of Alex Jones and David Icke, have been positioned by the enemy to deliberately mislead them.  Great drama is provided daily, to those who follow Jones.  He throws in a few token references to ‘God’ to keep these folks on the hook.  Day after day, stories are spun and the false scenario is drilled into the heads of his followers.  (Well . . . it’s not all COMPLETELY false . . . just misleading.)

According to Jones’ scenario, the current elite are building the New World Order (which all assume to be the final ‘beast’ government the Bible predicts).  These folks are the epitome of evil, even performing human sacrifices.  They seek to depopulate the world, are deliberately releasing pandemics via vaccinations, destroying our food supply through GMO foods, and even spraying us like cockroaches via chemtrails.  All this may be true.  I do believe that Satan recruited these folks over the last 70-100 or so years.  Certain families hold the power and are deeply involved in occult practices.  Over the last 10-20 years, their wickedness has grown beyond imagination.  They seem to be so intoxicated with their power and sin, that now they are performing their wickedness in plain view, as though nothing could stop them.  Even people in the sheltered Muslim nation of Saudi Arabia have heard of, and hate, the Illuminati.

But here is why it matters that the Bible doesn’t say there will be a ‘New World Order’:  we have no clear confirmation from Scripture that the New World Order these folks are bent on creating will be the final ‘beast’ empire.  In other words: although many people believe ‘this is it’, this may NOT be it.

Here is my view:  Satan promised the current elite a place at the table, in his final government.  He didn’t tell them they will be the main course.  He told them that the New World Order would spring forth from chaos.  He didn’t tell them that revolution of the people against THEM would be the chaos that propels his government into power.  He told them he would rise from the ashes.  He didn’t tell them it would be THEIR corpses burning.

Do you get what I’m saying?  Satan is using them . . . grooming them . . . letting them fully express every evil inspiration he gives them . . . and then he is going to sacrifice them . . . ‘throw them under the bus’ . . . so that he can rise to power, looking like a good guy . . . the one who saved us from THEM.  And it’s not just presidents and business moguls that Satan has worked hard to corrupt.  He has been hard at work recruiting many who stand in pulpits throughout this nation.  Many televangelists are also in his pocket.

You see, he has to create a ‘foil’ against which he can look good.  Compared to Biblical values, he’s still going to be obviously evil.  But by working hard for decades, to get people to reject Biblical values . . . and by working hard to create an evil ‘bogeyman’ (the current elite and corrupt ‘Christians’) . . . he’s really going to shine when he arrives.  I believe his world empire will be bathed in angelic light . . . wear the clean, fresh garments of a Mormon . . . and have the baby face of Joel Osteen . . . at least, until the blood of true Christians begins to flow.

When the revolution comes, the mantra will be for change, love, peace, and tolerance . . . to do away with the ‘haters’, the hypocrites, the greedy, and the war-mongers–Christians included.  Apostate Christianity is going to diverge into two directions: the corrupt, whose faces will be on the ‘wanted’ posters, along with the current elite . . . and the ‘tolerant’, emergent-church type, who will be on board with the change.  The ‘tolerant’, apostate so-called ‘Christians’ will have to swing far in the other direction, to prove their allegiance to the new empire.

Jones and Icke, along with others, are fully preparing their followers to be swept up in this revolution . . . and to accept the son of perdition when he rises from the ashes.  Many Christians-in-name-only are going to be on the wrong side of things, and zealous for the cause.  At their hands, many true Christians will be betrayed.

We must be reminded: we are not called to overthrow the New World Order.  We are told that a ‘beast’ global empire WILL arise.  It will arise, because it is the will of God for this to be so.  It is part of His plan, for the testing of mankind, the purification of the saints, and the punishment of the wicked.

Our part is not to trust in revolution, politics, or impeachment to save us.  OUR part is to repent, and to walk in holiness.  IF it be the will of God to postpone these events, or to lengthen the days until their fulfillment, then so be it.  But the only hope we have, for that to occur, is that we repent and live as ambassadors of Christ.  And the only hope we have, of not being caught up in the deception, is to do the same.

Here are some scriptures pertaining to ‘The Antichrist’:

‘And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom*: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken**; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

And after the league [made] with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do [that] which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: [yea], and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds***, even for a time. . .

. . . And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits]. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, [many] days.

Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And [some] of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make [them] white, [even] to the time of the end: because [it is] yet for a time appointed.

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.’ (Daniel 11:21-24, 32-37)

* Wins through election fraud

** He will destroy the people of his nation

*** The military? (Repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’, etc.?)

This is also about the Antichrist, after he is dead, and confirms that he destroyed the people of his own nation:

All the kings of the nations, [even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, [and as] the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, [and] slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.’ (Isaiah 14:18-20)

‘That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye PUT ON THE NEW MAN, which after God is created in RIGHTEOUSNESS and TRUE HOLINESS.

Wherefore PUTTING AWAY LYING, SPEAK EVERY MAN TRUTH with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.’  (Eph. 4:22-25)

‘Putting on the new man’ is something that WE do–not something the Lord does TO us.  WE make the choices that define our character.  How do we put on the new man?  By reading God’s Word, which renews the spirit of our mind, giving us the ‘mind of Christ’.

One of those choices we must make NOW, is that we will put away lying.  Lying is an ABOMINATION to God.  Homosexuality is an abomination . . . abortion is an abomination . . . and TELLING LIES is an abomination!

‘These six [things] doth the LORD HATE: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: A proud look, A LYING TONGUE, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness [that] SPEAKETH LIES, and he that soweth discord among brethren.’  (Proverbs 6:16-19)

Do you see?  Lying makes this list of things that are an abomination to God, right alongside abortion . . . and lying makes the list TWICE!!

The seriousness of this matter is not an exaggeration on my part.  Look at this other list of heinous sins, and lying is right there with them:

‘But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.’  (Rev. 21:8)

It’s right up there with murder and sorcery this time.  Make no mistake, this verse is not symbolic.  If the Bible says all liars will have their part in the Lake of Fire, you’d best believe it’s true.

‘If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God . . . ‘  (1 Peter 4:11)

When we open our mouth, it should be as though God Himself is speaking through us.  All it takes is ONE LIE, to destroy your credibility with someone who loves the truth.  As a Christian, that means your witness is destroyed–your ability to share the gospel with that person is lost.  (What if YOU are the very person God has ordained to reach them?)

We must strive to walk uprightly, as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God.  Salvation isn’t a bus ticket–it’s the beginning of a career.  Contrary to what you may have been led to believe, you get there by WALKING . . . it’s not a ‘ride’.

Do you know what will separate those who enter the Kingdom, from those who fall to the strong delusion and follow THE LIE of the Antichrist?  It is whether or not they LOVE TRUTH!

‘ . . . them THAT PERISH; BECAUSE THEY RECEIVED NOT THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this cause GOD SHALL SEND them strong delusion, that they should BELIEVE A LIE: That they all might be damned WHO BELIEVED NOT THE TRUTH, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.’  (2 Thess. 2:10-12)

You cannot claim to love truth if you traffic in lies!

As a liar, you make a practice of overriding your ability to discern the truth from a lie.  As a liar, you come to love lies, because they tell you what you want to believe.  But the verses above show that you will have NO EXCUSE for being deceived, because God will only send the delusion to those who don’t love truth.

God is not mocked.  You love lies?  Then lies you shall have.  Those who sow lies, will reap destruction when they are ensnared in THE lie.

‘Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and WHOSOEVER LOVETH AND MAKETH A LIE.’  (Revelation 22:14-15)

It boggles my mind that, even when shown clear Biblical evidence to the contrary, some people who profess to be Christians will continue to believe in lies.  If that describes you, you are in a very dangerous place!

‘For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.’  (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

The part about having ‘itching ears’ . . . only listening to what appeals to us . . .  isn’t just talking about somebody else.  I would venture to say it’s talking about 98% of us these days!  Unless you STRIVE to compare what you hear to God’s Word, you will find yourself doing the same thing.  For some reason, in our day and time, it’s the natural thing to do.

How do YOU decide what you will believe?  Do you have an objective standard that you compare things against, or do you just believe whatever ‘feels right’?  In this life, you can believe whatever you want . . . whatever feels right . . . or sounds nice . . . or appeals most to you . . . if you want to, but if you don’t love TRUTH and seek after TRUTH you are on very dangerous ground.

The Lord HIMSELF is sending strong delusion, to people who do not love the truth (2 Thess. 2).  If YOU reject the truth when it is shown to you, then it could very well be said that YOU do not love the truth.  If you don’t love the truth, you will be overcome by the strong delusion and you WILL believe The Lie and follow the False Prophet and ‘The Antichrist’.  If you don’t have a love for the truth–PRAY FOR IT, because your eternal soul is at stake!

The correct response, when someone is showing you something from the Bible, is to PRAY that the Lord would give you discernment (because you don’t want to reject the truth OR believe a deception, right?).

Then, you PRAYERFULLY go to the Bible and start searching the Scriptures to see if what they told you is true.  At the very LEAST, read the verses they showed you, IN CONTEXT to make sure that they are using the verses as God really said them.  Reading a verse in context usually means reading the whole chapter they are a part of–sometimes more.

Most false doctrines are based on verses taken out of context (often a LOT of verses taken out of context), and ‘personal revelation’ of vague and difficult Bible passages.

If a person promoting a teaching says things like ‘the Lord revealed to me’ or ‘God told me’, or ‘I had a dream’, that doesn’t prove it was really a revelation from God.  There are plenty of deceiving spirits going around masquerading as ‘the Lord’ and whispering unBiblical things in peoples’ ears.  Be VERY careful of people who try to elevate their credibility by claiming divine revelation.

‘Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;’  (1 Timothy 4:1)

The Bible tells us that

‘ . . .  In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.’  (2 Cor. 13:1)

God follows this pattern in His Word–things are repeated two or three times in Scripture.

The Bible also tells us

‘Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.’  (2 Peter 1:20)

So pay attention, and when someone tries to claim divine authority via personal revelation for what they are telling you  ( ‘the Lord revealed to me’ or ‘God told me’, or ‘I had a dream’, etc.)  be VERY cautious about believing what they say, and PRAY that God will protect you from believing any lies they may be telling.  Also, be careful of believing doctrines that are based on obscure verses, or verses that stand alone (the same idea isn’t repeated elsewhere in Scripture).

There’s no way around it.  WORK is involved in getting to the truth.  You can’t just be lazy and believe whatever sounds good when it passes through your ears.  You must PRAY for discernment AND open your Bible and read, to be sure that what you are told is TRUE!!

Too many pastors these days are preaching lies (deliberately, or because they themselves are deceived).  The Bible repeatedly warns us to ‘let no man deceive you’ . . . and God has provided each of us with plenty of access to a Bible!!

If the truth isn’t important to you, you WILL believe The Lie and be damned.  The Bible promises it (2 Thess. 2:11-12).  And those of us who believe lies, without opening and reading our Bible to see what’s true, will have no excuse when we stand before God, damned for believing THE Lie.

Many Christians today are worried . . . afraid that they may be deceived when The Antichrist arrives. They look at a passage from 2 Thessalonians 2 that talks about the great delusion in the end times:

‘ . . . And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie . . . ‘

But let’s look at the verse in context:

‘ . . . them that perish; because they received not the LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who BELIEVED NOT THE TRUTH, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.’  (2 Thess. 2:10-12)

What is truth?

‘Sanctify them through thy truth: THY WORD is truth.’  (John 17:17)

This passage echoes Hosea 4 . . .

‘Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD HATH A CONTROVERSY with the inhabitants of the land, BECAUSE [there is] no truth, nor mercy, nor KNOWLEDGE OF GOD in the land.

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. . . My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing THOU HAST FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF THY GOD, I will also forget thy children.’  (Hosea 4:1-2, 6)

The problem then, and now, is that people reject the knowledge of God and pursue the ways of wickedness instead. This is even true in mainstream ‘Christianity’ today, where lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, and all manner of indulging the flesh, is widely accepted.

By the grace of God, as Gentiles, even though we have never kept The Law, are admitted into the family of God, and our sins forgiven via Jesus’ death on the cross. But we are expected to CONTINUE in Him, by devoting ourselves to a life of obedience to God’s ways.

‘As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, IF YE CONTINUE IN MY WORD, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. . . .Verily, verily, I say unto you, IF A MAN KEEP MY SAYING, he shall never see death.’  (John 8:30-32, 51)

Ultimately, His death is only going to cover those who do what He commands.

‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are MY friends, IF YE DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU.’  (John 15:13-14)

The Lord has impressed on my heart, that His children who follow Him, who devote themselves to studying HIS WORD and living by it, WILL BE PROTECTED by Him. They do not need to be afraid.

You can have all the knowledge in the world about the devil’s schemes, but if you have not turned away from sin . . .if you do not live in obedience to His Word . . . if you do not have a love for the truth contained in His Word . . . then YOU WILL succumb to the strong delusion, because HE is sending it, to all who don’t love the truth (His Word) and who take pleasure in unrighteousness (not obeying His Word).

This protection DOESN’T mean that you may not physically suffer and die. It is a protection of your heart and mind. It is a promise that He will keep you IN THE TRUTH.

Who does the Bible show will be the little flock that endures to the end?

‘Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, and THE FAITH OF JESUS.’  (Revelation 14:12)

Lately, I have been hearing another interpretation of 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4:

‘Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.’

The theory goes, that there is not ONE Antichrist, but many . . . that the temple is one’s body . . . and that ‘man’ and ‘son’ signify a multitude of people.  1 John 2:18 is used to support this theory:

‘Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.’

While I don’t deny the plain meaning of 1 John 2:18 . . . and even the potential alternate interpretation of 2 Thess. 2:3-4, I still hold to the traditional interpretation, that there will arise a global leader who is THE consummate Antichrist.  I believe there is plenty of Scripture to support that understanding.

Here this person is described in Daniel and Revelation. Notice how close the descriptions are.

Daniel describes this king as a ‘little horn’.

‘And the TEN HORNS out of this kingdom [are] TEN KINGS [that] shall arise: and ANOTHER shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.‘ (DANIEL 7:24)

‘I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another LITTLE HORN, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] EYES LIKE THE EYES OF MAN, AND A MOUTH SPEAKING GREAT THINGS.’ (DANIEL 7:8)

‘And the ten HORNS which thou sawest are ten KINGS, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.’ (REVELATION 17:12)

He ‘speaks great things’.  He will reign for three and a half years (forty two months).

And there was given unto him A MOUTH SPEAKING GREAT THINGS AND BLASPHEMIES; and power was given unto him to continue FORTY [AND] TWO MONTHS. And he opened his mouth in BLASPHEMY AGAINST GOD, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.’ (REVELATION 13:5)

”And he shall SPEAK [GREAT] WORDS AGAINST THE MOST HIGH, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until A TIME AND TIMES AND THE DIVIDING OF TIME.’ (DANIEL 7:25)

‘And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall SPEAK MARVELOUS THINGS AGAINST THE GOD OF GODS, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.’ (DANIEL 11:36)

He is given permission to make war with the saints, and to overcome them.

And IT WAS GIVEN UNTO HIM TO MAKE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth SHALL WORSHIP HIM, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.’ (REVELATION 13:6-8)

‘I beheld, and the SAME HORN MADE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, and prevailed against them‘ (DANIEL 7:21)

He will be responsible for the desecration of the sanctuary/holy place.

And arms shall stand ON HIS PART, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily [sacrifice], and they shall place the ABOMINATION THAT MAKETH DESOLATE.’ (DANIEL 11:31)

‘When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by DANIEL the prophet, STAND IN THE HOLY PLACE, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains’ (MATTHEW 24:15-16)

‘And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by [the means of] those miracles which he* had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that THEY SHOULD MAKE AN IMAGE to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not WORSHIP the image of the beast should be killed.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads . . . ‘ (REVELATION 13:14-16)

* The second Beast

(It would seem apparent that this image of the beast is the abomination of desolation that Daniel spoke of.)

And now for the traditional view of the ‘son of perdition’ . . .

‘Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the SON OF PERDITION Who opposeth and EXALTETH HIMSELF ABOVE ALL THAT IS CALLED GOD, or that is worshipped*; so that he as God SITTETH IN THE TEMPLE OF GOD, shewing himself that he is God.’ (2 Thess. 2:3-4)

Compare this description with the descriptions of ‘The Antichrist’ above, and below . . .

‘And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall EXALT HIMSELF, and MAGNIFY HIMSELF ABOVE EVERY GOD, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.’ (Daniel 11:36)

Although Daniel 11:36 doesn’t specifically say he will sit in the temple, the verse is clearly parallel to the passage from 2 Thessalonians 2.  Daniel makes it clear that he will pollute the ‘sanctuary of strength’ and be responsible for placing the ‘abomination that maketh desolate’ there, so he definitely can be connected with the temple:

‘And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily [sacrifice], and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.’ (Daniel 11:31)

And we know that he will be present in the holy land . . .

‘He shall enter also into the glorious land . . . ‘ (Daniel 11:41)

‘And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain . . . ‘ (Daniel 11:45)

Because of the other strong correlations between his description in Daniel and Revelation (outlined earlier in this note), we make the assumption that he (‘The Antichrist’) seats himself in the temple of God, as part of his campaign of blasphemy.

Now understand, the term ‘the son of perdition’ is used one other time in Scripture: to describe Judas Iscariot.

‘While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the SON OF PERDITION; that the scripture might be fulfilled.’ (John 17:12)

What else does the Scripture tell us about Judas?

‘And after the sop SATAN ENTERED INTO HIM. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.’ (John 13:27)

Then ENTERED SATAN into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.’ (Luke 22:3)

Because this unusual term (‘son of perdition’) is used only twice, we wonder if there is a parallel. The situations are very similar, thus we make some assumptions . . . Judas was referred to as ‘the son of perdition’ AFTER Satan had entered into him. In parallel, we suppose that The Antichrist will be a man whom Satan (or another evil spirit) enters into.

Now we go to Revelation, where we find out just who that spirit is.

‘And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.  And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power . . . And they had a king over them, [which is] the angel of the BOTTOMLESS PIT, whose name in the Hebrew tongue [is] Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath [his] name Apollyon.’ (Revelation 9:1-3,11)

(Revelation 9:11–the release of the spirit of The Antichrist from the bottomless pit–is the reason why the numbers 9-11 have significance for the occultist elite.)

Why do we assume this spirit is the one that indwells The Antichrist? Because Revelation 11:7 . . .

‘And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the BOTTOMLESS PIT shall MAKE WAR AGAINST THEM, AND SHALL OVERCOME THEM, and kill them.’ (Revelation 11:7)

repeats the wording of Revelation 13:7 . . .

‘And it was given unto him to MAKE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, AND TO OVERCOME THEM . . . ‘ (Revelation 13:7)

which echoes the wording of Daniel 7:21 . . .

‘I beheld, and the same horn MADE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, and PREVAILED AGAINST THEM‘ (Daniel 7:21)

I hope this helps you understand the traditional view, and see the Scriptural support for this soon-coming global leader: a man possessed of the angel that has been imprisoned in the bottomless pit.  A man whom we often refer to as: ‘The Antichrist’.

Now I’m going to go way out on a limb with all this, but it represents my understanding, after much prayer and study. I am not claiming ‘thus saith the Lord’. I am not a prophet–just one who is curious. Consider it PRAYERFULLY and compare it with the Scriptures, and what you already know.

What I see coming is what I’ve BEEN seeing: a Russian/Chinese/Islamic coalition attacking America (I had previously believed this would be the Ezekiel 38 war, but I am no longer certain of that).

I believe that the Psalms 83 and Zechariah 12 wars are the same. (The Zechariah 14 war will be several years later, when The Antichrist enters Jerusalem and the temple.)  These are the nations that Psalms 83 says will attack Israel together:

  • Edom = Palestinians and Southern Jordanians
  • Ishmaelites = Saudis, Arabs
  • Moab = Palestinians and Central Jordanians
  • Hagarenes = Egyptians
  • Gebal = Hezbollah, Lebanese
  • Ammon = Palestinians
  • Amalek = Arabs of Sinai Peninsula
  • Philistines = Hamas of Gaza Strip
  • Tyre = Hezbollah, Southern Lebanese

God will destroy those nations that come against Israel, and she will enlarge her borders. Then all her children will come home (from all 12 tribes will return), and the temple will be rebuilt.

Isaiah 13-26 is a timeline. It spells out the doom of all the Psalms 83 nations that come against Israel. (Chapters 25-26 speak of the return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the wrath of God–confirming it as a timeline.) Interwoven throughout (chapter 13, 21:9, and perhaps 23, is the fall of Babylon (America). This correlates with another timeline of sorts: Ezekiel 33-48.

That passage begins with the watchmen (who are calling out a warning right now), then God’s anger at the shepherds who have not cared for His sheep, Him seeking out His flock (of all twelve tribes) and gathering them to the mountains of Israel (correlating with Rev. 12:6, 14), then the Psalms 83 war. (There is time overlap in these chapters.)

Ezekiel 37 describes the complete reunification of all of Israel. The chapter is ‘layered’. It speaks of all the tribes returning to the land of Israel (hasn’t happened yet) and also of when the resurrection takes place. Chapters 38-39 speak of the God/Magog war, which appears (based on the timeline) to be the war of Armageddon. Chapters 40-48 describe the time of the Millennium. That chapters 40-48 describe the time after the Lord’s return, is confirmed by Ez. 47:12. The sequence of the entire passage confirms it to be another timeline.

‘And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. ‘ (Ez. 47:12)

(Ezekiel 47:12 echoes Revelation 22:2.)

But back to America: Nahum 2 & 3, Isaiah 13, 21:9, and perhaps 23, and Revelation 18.

The ultimate fall of the Antichrist, who comes forth from America, is detailed in Isaiah 14. Note verses 15-20, concerning him:

‘Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; [That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; [that] opened not the house of his prisoners?

All the kings of the nations, [even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, [and as] the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because THOU HAST DESTROYED THY LAND, [AND] SLAIN THY PEOPLE: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.’

I believe history will say of Obama, that he accomplished this in America:

‘He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do [that] which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall SCATTER AMONG THEM THE PREY, AND SPOIL, AND RICHES: [yea], and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.’ (Daniel 11:24)

and this:

‘Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a STRANGE GOD, whom he shall acknowledge [and] increase with glory: and he shall CAUSE THEM TO RULE OVER MANY, and SHALL DIVIDE THE LAND FOR GAIN.’ (Daniel 11:39)

Daniel 11:21-45 describes The Antichrist twice: verses 21-35 and verses 36-45.

I believe he is doing much behind the scenes, and has divided the people and the land between those who will help him to take down America. He has already given 7 (I think that’s the right number) Alaskan Islands to the Russians.

I believe he has made an alliance with, or is aiding, the Psalms 83 nations to destroy Israel, while counting on his Russian/Chinese/Islamic allies to simultaneously help him subdue America. I believe they will betray him though, by going beyond his agenda for America, to completely destroy it. (The fatal head wound of North America? One of 7 continents?)

Thus, while he is preoccupied with helping his Psalms 83 allies against Israel, his Russian/Chinese/Islamic allies will destroy America (Babylon). Daniel 11:44 will take place:

‘But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth WITH GREAT FURY TO DESTROY, AND UTTERLY TO MAKE AWAY MANY.’

I suspect he will launch a nuclear attack against them, where they are presently headquartered: in Syria. Thus fulfilling Isaiah 17:1

‘The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from [being] a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.’

(Is Zechariah 14:21 another hint as to the identitiy of the one who will set himself up in the temple and declare that he is God (The Antichrist)?

‘Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be NO MORE THE CANAANITE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD OF HOSTS.’)

(Interesting note: Isaiah 23:13 seems to refer to Nimrod. Is this a clue that there is a connection between Nimrod and the Antichrist?)

Again, I’m going way out on a limb here, but this is where my studies have led thus far.

The beginning of sorrows includes the first four seals.  Afterwards begins the time of great tribulation.  The first four seals:

‘And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals [the first], and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse [that was] red: and [power] was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.’

Compare with Jesus’ words:

‘And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

and there shall be famines,

and pestilences,

and earthquakes, in divers places.

All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.’

(Jesus, Matthew 24:4-8)

We are already having the earthquakes, and hearing of wars and rumors of wars.  The white horse appears to have gone forth.  Revolutions are happening, and nations are preparing for war against one another.  The red horse appears to have gone forth.  We are experiencing a serious drought, and grain prices have gone up.  Soon the price of many foods will rise.  Because of shortages of food and/or the inability to afford food, famine will spread further.  We can see the third horse now.

The fourth horse will bring pestilence and death.  According to Jesus’ words, and John’s vision (in Revelation), it will be coming next. After it will come great tribulation . . . severe persecution.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.‘  (Jesus, Matthew 24:9-13)

‘But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten. . . Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against [their] parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.‘  (Jesus, Mark 13:9-10, 12-13)

‘And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.’  (Revelation 6:9-11)

For most of us, this comes as terrible news.  We worry and wonder how we will be able to endure.  But we need to understand that God has a purpose for this persecution.

‘ . . . and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations.’  (Mark 13:9)

God will give us power, for what He calls us to do:

‘But when they shall lead [you], and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.’  (Mark 13:11)

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.‘  (Acts 1:8)

We have to trust, that as well as giving us the words to speak, the empowerment by the Holy Spirit will enable us to endure to the end, through whatever we may suffer at that time.  And indeed, MANY are called to be His witnesses, and will endure to the end:

‘After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

And all the angels stood round about the throne, and [about] the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, [be] unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?  And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.‘  (Revelation 7:9-17)

Trust in Him.  He will not abandon you in your darkest hour.

‘ . . . and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.’  (Matthew 28:20)

‘ . . . Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou [art] mine. When thou passest through the waters, I [will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.  For I [am] the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour . . . ‘  (Isaiah 43:1-3)

‘ . . . Thou [art] my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.’  (Isaiah 41:9-10)

If you look at where this verse is placed . . .

‘And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.’  (Matthew 24:14)

. . . in the midst of Jesus answering His disciples about the end of the world, you will see that this verse is referring to the witness that Christian martyrs will give to the world, at the end of the age.   ‘ . . . And then shall the end come’, Jesus explained.  And, sure enough, following the fifth seal are the signs in the heavens, and on the Earth, that Jesus said would precede His return:

‘And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;  And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.  And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.’  (Revelation 6:12-14)

‘And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.‘  (Jesus, Luke 21:25-28)

This has been God’s plan from the beginning.  This is not a mistake, or a sign that the enemy is prevailing.  It is God’s plan.  As much as it was a mystery that the Messiah should come to die on a cross, it is a mystery that multitudes of His people should suffer and die to overcome Satan.

‘I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire.  A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened . . . and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.   And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed . . . I beheld, and the same horn* made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.‘  (Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14, 21-22)

‘And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.‘  (Revelation 12:10-11)

*  the horn = ‘The Antichrist’:

‘And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.’  (Daniel 7:25)

‘And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.  And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.’  (Revelation 13:5-8)
