Ever since the Lord woke me today, I have had the sense of something impending. I finished with my outside chores, hours before usual. Then, just as I came inside, I received a ‘code red weather warning’ on my cell phone.
Now, I don’t think this thunderstorm, damaging winds, and hail are going to be a disaster of any sort—but I believe the Lord wanted to illustrate something to me, so that I could share it with you.
- I received the code red warning—because I had signed up for it.
- I don’t know if my neighbors got the warning, but they could have signed up too—it is free to all residents of our city.
- Should I go pounding on their doors and warn them? No. By now the storm clouds are visible and the winds have begun. They should now be able to see for themselves, that a storm is on the way.
What does this have to do with you? With anything?
Terrible, terrible times are coming. God is warning His children whose hearts are turned towards Him, the ones who are watching. But many of His children are asleep. We, who have seen what is approaching, have been called to wake them, and give them the warning.
What is it we are to tell our brothers and sisters (who could have ‘signed up for the warning’ themselves)? We are to tell them to repent! Remember the verse?:
‘if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14)’
It’s long past time for His people to wake up, repent, and pray for His mercy—for themselves and their own families. It is too late to ‘turn back the clock’ in America. We have passed the point of no (will to) return. God has blessed Americans with prosperity and abundance for a long time, yet we have neither sought Him, nor thanked Him. Instead, for decades, we have used the free time and money that our prosperity afforded us to pursue our own selfish ambitions and secret sins. Therefore, God’s judgment has begun and, this time, there will be no turning back.
The sins of mankind ‘are piled up to heaven’, and God is ready to deal with them. Are we to send out another warning message to the world? No. Not this time. Sometimes we need to step aside and get out of God’s way. Judgment upon the world has begun. This is God’s will, in order that He still may be able to reach some of the lost whose hearts are hardened. The warnings God is now giving, are for His children.
If you do not consider yourself one of His children, count yourself very blessed that you are hearing the warning—blessed that God cares enough for you to try, yet again, to penetrate your heart with truth, to try to turn you away from sin and to His salvation.
If you are one of His children, it’s time to stop fooling around!! Start today, to throw off the sins that have entangled you, and commit to follow Him wholeheartedly!!
Will you suffer in the days ahead? Probably. You see, you reap what you sow, and you have been sowing a lot of ‘bad seed’ up until now. The consequences of some of those deeds will still catch up with you. Get on your knees and plead with God for mercy.
What I have to say next will be hard to hear.
My heart goes out to the innocent children, for what they will suffer in the days and years ahead (and for what many already are suffering now). I plead with God to have mercy upon the children and His word to me was:
‘I am. I’m taking them home.’
Some of you will lose your children. Pray for God’s mercy, that He will take them home—rather than for them to fall into the hands of evildoers. (Who would have thought we would live to see the day that Christians would rejoice at the death of an innocent child?)
Follow God wholeheartedly, and trust completely in Him. He is able to save you, to feed you, to clothe you, to sustain you. When bad things come, humble yourselves. Don’t be proud and stand in defiance, shaking your fist at God and throwing the blame at Him!
‘whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, him will I not endure’ (Psalms 101:5)
‘Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction’ (Job 36:21)
The world is reaping the harvest of all the sin that mankind has been sowing. God gave us guidelines for living, so that we might live long upon the earth, in health and in peace. But, like sheep, we have each wandered off on our own and done as we pleased.
He has lumped all our sins together, and is hurling them back upon the earth. Do you personally deserve the exact, specific hardship you are suffering? Likely not. BUT, how many sins did you commit for which you were never personally punished?
If you are His child, by way of repentance and turning to Jesus Christ (and continuing in obedience), then your sins are forgiven and not held to your account. But, sin does not just disappear. Somewhere, somehow, it has substance in the spiritual realm. God still deals with the sin. The earth, and its inhabitants, will still reap the results of sin. We are all sinners, we will all suffer because of sin.
His children won’t die for their sins, which He has forgiven. (important note: ‘you have not because you ask not’—if you want forgiveness for your sins, you must humble yourself before God and ask His forgiveness) But, will you suffer or die? Suffer-yes, die-maybe. But, not as a punishment from God directed at you personally.
Make up your mind, no matter what, to remain humble and not become indignant with God, over anything that seems like an injustice that you may have to bear. Remember, that it was your sins too, that sent Jesus to the cross. It is only by the grace and mercy of God that you can even be saved—you are not entitled!! None of us is!!
Trust in the goodness of God.
‘Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.’ (Psalms 106:1)
‘Yet He has not left Himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.’ (Acts 14:17)
God’s children will not suffer His wrath (His obedient children, that is. Important note: ‘once saved, always saved’ is a lie!!)
God’s wrath = ‘The Day of The Lord’ = the day that Christ returns
‘For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.’ (I Thessalonians 4:16-17)
We will go up as God’s wrath is coming down. Don’t look for the Lord to ‘rapture’ you out of tribulations (but live righteously nevertheless).
The alarm has gone out to all who will listen. The window of opportunity is closing. Deception abounds. Every day your heart grows colder and harder. Make your peace with God now, while there is yet time!
‘From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.
God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.’ (Acts 17:26-27)
‘. . . for God is greater than man.
Why do you complain to Him
that He answers none of man’s words?
For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though man may not perceive it.
In a dream, in a vision of the night,
when deep sleep falls on men
as they slumber in their beds,
He may speak in their ears
and terrify them with warnings,
to turn man from wrongdoing
and keep him from pride,
to preserve his soul from the pit,
his life from perishing by the sword.
Or a man may be chastened on a bed of pain
with constant distress in his bones,
so that his very being finds food repulsive
and his soul loathes the choicest meal.
His flesh wastes away to nothing,
and his bones, once hidden, now stick out.
His soul draws near to the pit,
and his life to the messengers of death.
“Yet if there is an angel on his side
as a mediator, one out of a thousand,
to tell a man what is right for him,
to be gracious to him and say,
‘Spare him from going down to the pit;
I have found a ransom for him’—
then his flesh is renewed like a child’s;
it is restored as in the days of his youth.
He prays to God and finds favor with Him,
he sees God’s face and shouts for joy;
he is restored by God to his righteous state.
Then he comes to men and says,
‘I sinned, and perverted what was right,
but I did not get what I deserved.
He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit,
and I will live to enjoy the light.’
“God does all these things to a man—
twice, even three times—
to turn back his soul from the pit,
that the light of life may shine on him.’
(Job 33:13-30)
