Although birds falling from the sky is not a Biblical prophecy of the end times, it certainly does feel ominous and apocalyptic.

Dead Birds in Louisiana

Dead Birds in Louisiana

An important thing to remember is that, while we may not know the reason for the sudden die offs of large numbers of birds–there IS a reason.  I also suspect that certain people may be starting to get nervous, wondering whether their actions are to blame.

Whether or not any of these things is to blame, I want to propose a few things that are potential hazards to the creatures we share the planet with. I am not attempting to provide an official explanation, or new conspiracy theory.  I am just throwing out my opinion, based on what I have heard and what I know.

(Disclaimer:  this is not a well-researched post I am making.  I am relating, from brief notes, what I have learned from recent news stories.  The rest, where no links are given, is based on what I remember from my previous study of Biology.)

First, let me summarize what I know about recent bird die-offs:

Here are some things these type of birds have in common:

  • They congregate in large flocks
  • They tend to migrate in winter
  • They are opportunistic feeders
  • Insects make up a large part of their diet in summer, but in winter they primarily eat grains and weed seeds
  • They settle on agricultural fields, and clean up what is left after the harvest
  • Birds eat more when it is colder–the oils in seeds help to fuel their metabolism, keeping them warm

An article about the Turtle Doves, that died in Italy, may give a further clue as to the cause:

”  . . . Nadia Caselli of the bird association said they appear to have overeaten sunflower seeds, which damage their livers and kidneys. The seeds are mostly waste from a nearby oil factory.”

Here are my thoughts:

  • There are chemicals that concentrate in oils–meaning that, of all the parts of the plant, the seeds (or more specifically, the oil in the seeds) will have the highest concentration of the contaminant.
  • Some of these chemicals are absorbed into the plant after it is sprayed, others are taken up from the soil and water, by the roots.
  • So, agricultural chemicals could be to blame.
  • Our global elite, in their attempts to create ever more power and wealth for themselves, have opened a Pandora’s box of new agricultural innovations–genetically modified plants are one of them.  (Also, genetically modified plants, especially those that are wind-pollinated, have escaped from cultivation and corrupted the DNA of non-modified plants of the same species living nearby. )
  • I am no longer up-to-date on what is happening in the world of GMOs (genetically modified organisms).  What I DO know is that the purpose of some genetic modification is to enable the plants to withstand the effects of herbicides, so that the field can be sprayed to kill weeds without harming the crop.  Although the crop plant may not be harmed, what chemicals are concentrating in its tissues, in the soil, and in the insects and animals that are exposed to the herbicides (either directly, or by eating the plant)?
  • Another type of genetic modification is to make the plant toxic to insects that eat that particular plant.  One particular bacteria, called ‘bt’, is effective in killing caterpillars and the larvae of flies and mosquitos.  By incorporating a ‘bt gene’ into a plant’s DNA, each cell of the plant then produces the same toxin that bt bacteria produce, and makes it deadly to its insect pests.  (I have heard, but can’t verify, that many of us now have that toxin in our gut flora–that the gene has actually been incorporated into the bacteria in our digestive tract!   [presumably from eating plant material that included the bt gene–or maybe, from eating yogurt, if the bacteria that culture yogurt have incorporated the bt gene from the milk from cows that have eaten plant material that contained it . . . ])
  • Thus, the death of these birds may be a result of having introduced genetically modified organisms into the environment.

My objective is to throw out some ideas.  I can only hope that someone, somewhere, is looking into these possibilities.  I think that looking at the source of the seed these birds were eating would tell a lot.

Did these birds eat seeds from genetically modified plants?  Were the seeds they ate, from test fields?  Were the seeds contaminated with some kind of agricultural chemicals?  If so, did anyone know that these seeds might have a potentially lethal effect on wildlife, or people?  Did material from these plants enter into the human food supply too?

Follow the seeds.  What ties these locations, and their seeds together?  Is this the ‘smoking gun’?  If this is the cause, will the truth ever see the light of day?

If GMOs are involved, you can be sure that a ‘plausible explanation’ will soon come forth.  The agricultural companies that are in the business of creating genetically modified organisms are very wealthy, very powerful, and very well connected.  If they are to blame, you can bet they are scrambling to ‘put a lid on’ this.

However, if this is what has happened, and if it is God’s time to reveal more information about the corruption of the elite, the truth will out.

Setting The Stage

Another line of  thinking that I encountered, is that  the death of the Arkansas birds–and fish–could be tied in with HAARP technology or military tests.  Although I know nothing about the blog, here is a link for those of you who would like to hear what that writer has to say.

Another possibility I can think of is a species-specific attack using a nanoweapon. In such a case, it could be a warning from another country (such as China) or our own military testing and refining new nanoweaponry.

And, last but not least, my first thought was that this may somehow tie in with the recent earthquakes in Guy, Arkansas and/or the Gulf Oil Spill.

A couple of weeks ago, I had read a post about Sodom and Gomorrah.  (Here is a link to some fascinating information regarding what is most likely the actual location of Sodom and Gomorrah!)

Genesis 14:10 says that there were tar pits in the Valley of Siddim (now the Dead Sea). Out of curiosity, I did some research as to what kind of geology one would find that includes tar pits, sulfur, and salt.  I learned that these elements are found in areas where petroleum is also found. If I understood correctly, the geology of such places allows for mud, oil, or sulfur-spewing volcanoes to come up overnight.

Interestingly, there are three places in the US that seemed similar to the Valley of Siddim:

  1. A small petroleum seep at the Great Salt Lake in Utah
  2. The region of (underground) salt dome deposits that are located in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas
  3. The San Joaquin Valley of California, where there are several well known tar pits

It may be that nothing like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah will ever happen in these places . . . but strange things ARE happening in Arkansas and Louisiana.

We have already had two major disasters in that region: Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Oil Spill.  Are we seeing the prelude to another disaster?  Is it possible that the birds and fish were poisoned or injured by venting of toxic gases along a fault line?  Is an earthquake or some sort of eruption imminent?

Or might it tie in with the oil spill?  Is it possible that some of the dispersant used after the oil spill has made its way further inland, through waterways or fault lines?  Or that, last summer, rain contaminated by toxic vapors may have come down on fields in the area, tainting the soil and accumulating in the plants’ seeds, making them toxic?

Whatever IS behind the birds that fell from the sky, a lot of people are watching and asking:  “What’s next?”

Update 1/26/11:

I have heard that some people heard ‘sonic booms’ or a sound like thunder around the same time as the birds died, that night in Beebe, Arkansas.  (Beebe is not far from Guy, Arkansas where numerous small earthquakes have been felt recently).

A number of people in Indiana reported hearing the same thing,  near Indianapolis the day before the birds in Beebe died. The shaking only lasted about 10 seconds.  They were told it was a 3.8 magnitude earthquake (3 miles deep), but some still question why it sounded and felt like an explosion, rather than like a typical earthquake.

Apparently, one guy in Indiana (and his mother in law) heard 3 loud booms at the same time that his friend, Anton, in NC heard the same thing.  I believe this took place on 1/1/11.  He is still trying to find out whether anyone else between Indiana and North Carolina heard the same thing at that time.

So, here is another thought–again, having to do with fault lines and methane releases:  perhaps methane is making its way through the New Madrid fault line and causing underground explosions . . .

Here is a brief description of what a natural gas explosion felt like (see comment #9).

Related to the New Madrid faultline–here is a link to a broadcast yesterday, that talks about the preparations that FEMA is making, for a major disaster related to a quake on the New Madrid fault line within the next three years (you can skip to a little past the half way point).

Whether or not there are underground explosions happening–it may be news to many people that there IS a type of earthquake that is expressed as a loud boom or thundering.   Something is definitely happening along the New Madrid fault line already.

I picked up this link from a new blog at Stephen Collin’s site.  It talks about changes in the Earth’s magnetic field.  It got me to wondering whether this might be another sign pointing to the possibility of earthquakes or eruptions happening soon in the Gulf region.

One other thought.  I had read something, a couple of days ago, about a new TV show in the works–it may be called ‘Disappeared’–where experts track contestants who try to disappear off-grid.  (Ha, ha . . . real funny . . . since there are more and more people who wish to do just that.)  It sounds to me like this show will be a way to ‘get into the heads’ of people who wish to hide, in order to eliminate blindspots in current tracking methods.

A couple thoughts about wanting to hide:

  • Not everyone who wishes to be hidden ‘has something to hide’ or is a danger.  Some people just deeply love their freedom and resent an omnipresent government.
  • Some people, who don’t submit to God, DO believe in Bible prophecies and wish to escape the things that are coming, by their own efforts.  Perhaps this show will demonstrate to them that their efforts will mostly be futile.  The only real hiding place is ‘in God’ and He can hide us in plain sight, if He so chooses.

Whatever it may mean, Daniel 11: 33-34 tells us:

“Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered.  When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them.”

I interpret this to mean that there will be non-believers who will see an opportunity to make a buck by helping and hiding believers–for a price.  Could it also be that God throws a monkey wrench into the enemy’s plan by using the increasing fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field to make it harder to use technology to track people?

No matter what happens Christian, never forget: God is in control!  He will have the last laugh, so to speak.  Our universe rests in the palm of His hand.  Nothing is too hard for Him!

An Urgent Prophetic Warning For The People Of God!  (Part 1)

‘Global Warming’ or ‘Scorched Earth’?

It is still hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that God is a God of judgment.  After all, my relationship with Him has been as a child with a patient, loving, merciful father.  He protects me, and provides for me.  He is my constant companion and friend.  Yet, the Scriptures admonish us not to present Him as being only a God of Love.  In His own words, He is a God of love and judgment.

To His friends, He demonstrates love, patience, goodness, peace, kindness and gentleness.  But to His enemies, He is a consuming fire.  Upon His enemies, He visits judgment.

None of us is born an enemy of God.  We choose to be His enemies, by setting our minds and hearts in opposition to Him, and in opposition to truth.  It is our own attitudes and actions that separate us from God.  Yet, even then, He holds out His arms to us in forgiveness and reconciliation.  But when we continue to reject Him, and live in opposition to Him, we invite judgment upon ourselves.

When people say things like the things I am about to say, many people close their hearts and make accusations about the speaker’s motives and character.  You can say what you want about me.  I have never been popular, so it really doesn’t matter.  But, in the hopes that you won’t close your heart, but will listen and understand the message I hope to convey, I will take a little time to qualify my comments.

Sometimes it is really easy for me to look at people and feel they are deserving of judgment.  Some people are so vile and corrupt . . . others are so evil, that it seems they really merit judgment–and soon!  I can feel this way about people I spend time around, or the culture that surrounds me.

However, I have no intimate understanding of people in other places or cultures.  I have no opinion as to whether their lifestyles merit judgment, because I have no idea how they live.  So, when I question whether God is judging a nation somewhere, it is not because I feel they should be judged.  I really have no opinion in the matter, because I am not acquainted with them.

It has really caught my attention, over the last couple of years, that Indonesia is suffering one catastrophe after another.  They are constantly being hit with earthquakes–the most recent being a 7.7 magnitude quake a couple of days ago.  And I have thought–could God’s judgment be upon Indonesia?  And I have wondered–don’t they have a large Islamic population?

If they do, and if they are suffering God’s judgment–could it be because of their practice of Islam?

Islam worships a false god–an idol.  Allah is a false god.  He is not the same being as the Jews and Christians worship (Jehovah, The Creator).  God’s first commandment for His people is that they have no other gods before Him.  Could it be that it is His first rule because it is the one that matters to Him the most?

Allah is not just a false god, he is a false god that claims he is the God of gods–the supreme God!!  This is a case of stealing the identity of the Most High God and destroying His reputation by the abominable things that the imposter says and does!  Islam is an abomination!

Could it be that the practice of this abomination, and the worship of this imposter (Allah), is enough to make God angry enough to pour out judgment–desolation?–on those nations that practice it?

Today, Indonesia was hit with a tsunami and a volcanic eruption–within hours of each other!  Tsunamis scour the ground and sweep away everything in their path.  Is this not desolation?  Volcanoes can scour the ground with an eruption of hot gases, or cover the ground with ash, lava, or mudslides, obliterating everything in the eruption’s path.  Is this not desolation?

And yes, as it turns out, Indonesia does have a large Islamic population–the largest in the world!  Over 170 million, according to adherents.com.

Right behind them, in second place, is Pakistan, with 136 million Muslims.  What has been happening in Pakistan lately?  Massive flooding, destruction of roads, buildings, farmlands and homes.  Millions whose homes were damaged or destroyed are struggling financially as they try to rebuild.  The national economy, must be virtually destroyed–before the floods it was built on billions of dollars of international loans.  Almost 6 million acres of farmland were damaged (farming is the basis of Pakistan’s economy).  Is this not desolation?

I am not certain that any of these events are God’s judgment–but I think they could be.

Let me list the top 10 countries in regards to Muslim population:

  1. Indonesia
  2. Pakistan
  3. Bangladesh
  4. India
  5. Turkey
  6. Iran
  7. Egypt
  8. Nigeria
  9. China

IF the events in Indonesia and Pakistan are God’s judgments on nations that practice Islam, then my own (human) prediction/opinion  is that Bangladesh and India might be next in line for major catastrophes.

Let me remind you again of God’s promise, in case you are living in one of these nations:

“If my people, which are called by my name (Christians and descendents of Jacob/Israel), shall

  • humble themselves,
  • and pray,
  • and seek my face,
  • and turn from their wicked ways;

then

  • will I hear from heaven, and
  • will forgive their sin, and
  • will heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

It doesn’t seem like God would suspend judgment upon a country if only His people there repent, but there is precedent for this.  We know that when Abraham plead with God for mercy on the righteous people in Sodom, that God was willing to spare all the extremely wicked, vile inhabitants of the city if there were just ten righteous among them.

“Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”

The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord. Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?  Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge  of all the earth do right?”

The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?”

“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”

Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”

He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”

Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?”

He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”

Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”

He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”

Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”

He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”  When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.”  Genesis 18:20-33

I also am reminded of Elijah’s showdown with the prophets of Baal.  The reason it comes to mind is that there seemed to be a question, among God’s people, as to who was really God–so Elijah put them to the test.  I think we face a similar situation today.

My opinion is that if God is visiting  judgment upon a country, and His people there would repent, and humble themselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from THEIR wicked ways–people would be watching.  It would be a showdown, of sorts.  And I believe, as He did before Elijah and the prohets of Baal, that God would show Himself to be God by (forgiving His people and) healing their land.

“Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.”

But the people said nothing.

Then Elijah said to them, “I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets. Get two bulls for us. Let them choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—he is God.”

Then all the people said, “What you say is good.”

Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire.” So they took the bull given them and prepared it.

Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “O Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made.

At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”  So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention.

Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.” They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which was in ruins. Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.” With the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahs of seed. He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.”

“Do it again,” he said, and they did it again.

“Do it a third time,” he ordered, and they did it the third time. The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.

At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!”

Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.”   I Kings 18:21-40

More than anything, I think this is the fundamental issue between Judeo-Christian western civilization and Islam:

Our gods are not the same!  Allah is not Jehovah!

If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Allah is God, follow him!
